We believe that, together, we can create a brighter, more sustainable future while tackling the most pressing challenges of the 21st century.\nWe are looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Thermal Engineer to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report toDirector, Equipment Engineering - Automation and based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of proprietary furnaces and thermal processes that are critical to our company’s success. This role requires a strong understanding of thermal process fundamentals and hands-on experience with high-temperature furnace systems-particularly sintering under controlled thermal, mechanical, and environmental conditions-and their integration into high-volume manufacturing environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and support the development and launch of proprietary thermal processing equipment.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define process and system specifications.\nDrive Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).\nLead process design efforts to enable efficient equipment development and capacity scaling.\nOversee equipment build and develop test procedures aligned with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.\nEnsure process capability and stability throughout development and implementation phases.\nCoordinate with remote engineering teams and external suppliers.\nManage project timelines, resources, and reporting.\nPartner with facilities and maintenance teams to install and support equipment in production environments.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields (e.g., ceramics, sintering, thermal processes).\n4-8 years of experience in thermal equipment/process development and high-volume manufacturing integration.\nGood understanding of FEA, and CFD result analysis and interpretation.\nProven track record in leading equipment development and process stabilization projects.\nExperience working with suppliers and remote engineering teams.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nWillingness to travel up to 20%.\nFamiliarity with process engineering metrics (e.g., Cp, CpK).\nExperience in high-volume semiconductor, ceramics, solar, or battery manufacturing is a plus.\nExperience with high temperature furnaces (+900C) is a plus\nBloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
