We are looking for aPrincipalEquipment Engineer to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role willreporttoEquipment Engineering Senior Manager and based inFremont CA. Thisis a fully on-site, in office role.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexity
Skilled in diagnosing and fixing manufacturing equipment
Automated Equipment
Provide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systems
Ability tomodifyexisting control logic to improve safety,performanceor throughput
Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed
Installation,commissioningand support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspections
Conducts engineering tasks in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for testing, material handling, welding, and machining equipment
Oversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projects
Partner with Advanced ManufacturingEngineers tolead FAT, equipment validation, and production handover
Develop equipment specifications and documents for the manufacturing assembly,testingand material handling processes
Oversee project timelines, financial planning, and prepare comprehensive status reports for leadership
Work with vendors, facility engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to manage project implementation
Find ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise quality
Prepare or approve system as-built drawings
Willingness to work flexible hours, including off shifts and weekends, as required by business needs
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering field.
Manufacturing or Equipment Engineer with7+years experienceworking in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with robotics, motion control, pneumatics, and machine vision systems.
Equipment requirement development and specification writing
Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
Knowledge ofAutocad,Solidworksand MS Office suite
Strong communicationand collaboration skills
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in high-volume thin ceramics, solar,orbattery manufacturing is a plus
Experience in thermal equipment/process development and high-volume manufacturing integration.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand/walk for up to8-10hours per shift
Occasionally lift/carry up to 25lbs
Use hands and fingers tooperatemachinery controls and computers throughout the shift
Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots)
