This role will report toSr Director Software Engineering and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.\nRole and Responsibilities:\nDesign, build, and maintain DevOps tooling, automation, and infrastructure workflows.\nStand up and manage Kubernetes clusters outside of cloud providers (bare-metal or on-prem).\nImplement and maintain infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, and config-as-code patterns.\nDebug and troubleshoot complex system and integration issues across services, middleware, and data layers.\nDevelop scripts and tools-primarily in Python -to support automation, CI/CD, and integration tasks.\nWork with databases and middleware technologies to support service integrations and reliability.\nFollow strong SDLC discipline including documentation, testing, code reviews, and operational readiness.\nCollaborate closely with engineering teams on architecture, deployments, and operational improvements.\nRequired Skills and Experience:\n6-8 years of strong DevOps background with excellent debugging and integration skills.\nSolid development skills using Python; familiarity with compiled languages (e.g., Go, Rust, C++) is a plus.\nStrong understanding of:Middleware components and service communication patterns\nDatabases (SQL/NoSQL), time-series databases\nEvent driven architectures and highly scalable systems\nKubernetes cluster lifecycle and administration\nInfrastructure-as-code / configuration management tools\n\nProficiency with git and modern development workflows.\nStrong SDLC discipline, engineering rigor, and attention to detail.\nNice to have Skills\nExperience writing and maintaining Helm charts.\nDeep familiarity with containers and package registries.\nKnowledge of secure SDLC workflows and software supply chain considerations.\nExperience with observability stacks (metrics, logging, tracing).\nAbility to design CD patterns using GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux, etc.).\nBloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
