Instead, the focus is on creating automated, stable and scalable solutions that make it easier for Engineers to develop, deploy and run their software.\n\nWhiteaway is a digital-first company where technology plays a central role in the business. The company operates some of the largest online stores in the Nordics within electronics and home appliances, and its technical platforms are an important part of the continued development of the business.\n\nYour role\nYou will play a central role in developing and improving Whiteaway’sinternal platform and will work closely with software Engineers and the other members of the Platform Squad.\n\nA key part of the role is the close collaboration with Engineers. You will be curious about how they work, understand their needs and challenges, and use their feedback to identify how workflows, processes and platform tooling can be made simpler, faster and better.\n\nOver the coming years, Whiteaway will be taking the platform to a significantly higher level. A key focus will be reducing and removing legacy and building a more modern, scalable and developer-friendly platform. AI will also play an increasingly important role in how the platform develops and how Whiteaway’s Engineers work.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\nDeveloping and continuously improving the cloud platform\n\nAutomating deployment and development processes\n\nInfrastructure as Code\n\nCI/CD pipelines\n\nContainerisation and Kubernetes\n\nCloud infrastructure – primarily AWS\n\nMonitoring, observability and reliability\n\nEngineering tooling and self-service solutions\n\nSecurity and access management\n\nTroubleshooting and optimising platform performance and stability\n\nThe role offers a high degree of freedom, and you will have the opportunity to take ownership and influence both the technology and the way the team works.\n\nWhiteaway believes in freedom under responsibility. Perhaps you are already working as a Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or Senior Software Engineer with strong cloud and infrastructure experience.\n\nYour title is less important than your motivation to work hands-on with platform engineering and your ability to thrive at the intersection of software development, cloud and operations. Experience with general software development is an advantage, particularly Node.js and/or Go.\n\nWe would like you to have experience with several of the following technologies and tools:\n\nAWS\n\nKubernetes\n\nDocker\n\nTerraform / Infrastructure as Code\n\nCI/CD\n\nGit/GitHub\n\nLinux\n\nNode.js and/or Go\n\nDatadog\n\nArgoCD\n\nSpacelift\n\nCloudflare\n\nMonitoring and observability\n\nNetworking and cloud infrastructure\n\nExperience with GitOps is an advantage, but not a requirement. Experience with security or with the intersection between operations and software development is also considered an advantage.\n\nYou do not need to know everything.
