In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from Bloomberg Originals to New Economy Forum.\nWe are looking for an experienced, highly motivated Editor for breaking news, to serve as a key editorial driver on our global TV Newsdesk. You will be the operational engine during breaking news-identifying market-moving headlines, making instant editorial calls, and delivering up-to-the-second updates to TV show teams whilst LIVE on-air. Working closely with the APAC TV Newsdesk Team Leader and Newsdesk Producers, you will help spearhead cross-platform alignment across TV, our global print newsroom, and digital/social media platforms. You must thrive under real-time deadline pressure, have excellent communication skills, possess strong financial market fluency, and demonstrate the leadership and editorial confidence required to mobilize global reporting resources at a moment's notice.\nWe’ll trust you to:\nProactively monitor Bloomberg Terminal alerts, Bloomberg News stories and wires, data feeds, and social channels to rapidly spot, verify, and lead breaking market, corporate, and geopolitical coverage \nDeliver fast, precise, and vetted updates directly to live show producers and on-air anchors to keep Bloomberg Television ahead of the competition \nSecurely organize and pre-position embargoed stories with live show producers to execute instant releases the moment restrictions lift \nPerform high-speed data entry and real-time text delivery across newsroom communication platforms during fast-moving news events \nAct as an editorial bridge between Bloomberg TV, the global print newsroom, digital desk, and social media teams to drive unified, high-impact coverage \nMaintain a calm, decisive presence in a fast-paced, high-intensity newsroom environment while communicating clearly across cross-functional teams \nYou’ll need to have:\nBachelor’s degree or degree-equivalent qualifications \nAt least 3 years of experience in a broadcast newsroom, assignment desk, or real-time wire agency, with a strong track record of directing breaking news coverage \nA solid understanding of global financial markets, macroeconomic indicators, central bank policy, corporate earnings, and APAC news dynamics \nDemonstrated success coordinating and communicating breaking coverage simultaneously across broadcast TV, print/wire desks, and social media platforms \nExceptional editorial judgment and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a real-time, fast paced newsroom \nFlexibility to work early morning weekday shifts aligned with APAC market opens and global news handoffs \nFluency in both spoken and written English \nDemonstrated continuous career growth within an organization. \nWe'd love to see:\nExperience in TV or video news production \nExperience using the Bloomberg Terminal \nPrior supervisory or team lead experience on a broadcast or real-time breaking news desk \nDeep knowledge of the Asia-Pacific media and economic landscape, with prior newsroom experience in the region \nIf this sounds like you:\nApply if you think we're a good match.
