The Oracle Infrastructure team owns the Oracle capabilities within the broader DBaaS platform, building the services, APIs, automation, and operational tooling that help Bloomberg engineers deploy and operate Oracle-backed systems safely at scale.\nYou are a senior software engineer who enjoys building infrastructure platforms, automation, and self-service tools. You are comfortable working across software, database, and infrastructure layers, and you care about reducing operational toil while improving reliability. You are not a traditional DBA, but you should have strong relational database experience and an interest in Oracle database performance, automation, and high availability.\nWe’ll Trust You To\nBuild backend services, APIs, and automation for Bloomberg’s Oracle DBaaS platform.\n\nCreate self-service workflows for configuration, patching, deployment, and lifecycle management.\n\nImprove Oracle observability, telemetry, alerting, high availability, and disaster recovery tooling.\n\nDebug production issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers.\n\nPartner with engineering teams to improve database design, performance, reliability, and production readiness.\n\nHelp shape the Dublin presence for a global Database Engineering platform team.\n\nYou Need To Have\n4+ years of software engineering experience using Java, Python, or similar languages.\n\nExperience building services, automation, or operational tooling for relational database-backed systems.\n\nStrong understanding of relational database concepts.\n\nExperience automating infrastructure or production workflows.\n\nStrong communication skills and a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.\n\nWe’d Love To See\nOracle production experience, including performance tuning, execution plans, wait events, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, backup/recovery, or patching.\n\nExperience building platform services, distributed systems, internal developer platforms, or DBaaS-style infrastructure.\n\nFamiliarity with Kubernetes, containers, orchestration, observability, SLOs, or configuration management.\n\nExperience across PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar database technologies.\n\nIf indicated, please note that years of experience are a guide;
