This is an opportunity to work on more than an isolated service or UI - you’ll reason about the entire system, from the domain model and workflow architecture through backend services and user-facing experiences.\nYou’ll work on challenging problems involving distributed transactions, asynchronous workflows, evolving business rules, failure recovery, and coordination across multiple systems of record. You will have significant influence over both the technical architecture and how users interact with these processes.\nAs a senior engineer, you’ll partner directly with engineering teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to understand complicated workflows, establish clear domain boundaries, and turn those requirements into scalable and maintainable systems.\nWe’ll trust you to:\nDesign and evolve the Engagement Management domain model as Bloomberg modernizes its Quote-to-Bill architecture\n\nBuild full-stack workflows spanning user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and asynchronous processing\n\nArchitect resilient orchestration for long-running business processes that cross multiple systems and organizational boundaries\n\nDesign APIs and event-driven integrations that allow Engagement Management to coordinate effectively with contracting, compliance, billing, delivery, and other domains\n\nBuild robust validation, reconciliation, audit, retry, and failure-recovery mechanisms for critical workflows\n\nSimplify complex business processes and translate them into clear system boundaries and intuitive user experiences\n\nEstablish strong engineering and operational practices through observability, testing, SLOs, and production ownership\n\nInfluence long-term architectural direction while delivering incremental improvements to existing systems\n\nWe'll expect you to be:\nAn owner of the product- you take responsibility for the system from user experience and domain design through production operation.\n\nA strong systems thinker- you can reason across services, data models, workflows, APIs, and user experiences rather than optimizing one component in isolation.\n\nA collaborative engineer- you work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to understand complex processes and design solutions that teams can adopt.\n\nComfortable with ambiguity- you can turn evolving business requirements into explicit models, boundaries, and technical decisions.\n\nProactive- you identify architectural weaknesses, challenge unnecessary complexity, and help shape the long-term direction of the platform.\n\nYou'll need to have:\n4+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and releasing high-quality software in Python, C++, C#, and/or TypeScript/JavaScript\n\nStrong system-design fundamentals and experience building production software across multiple components or services\n\nExperience with data modeling, API design, and distributed or asynchronous systems\n\nAbility to reason about complex business workflows and translate them into maintainable software abstractions\n\nA high standard for software maturity, resiliency, testing, and operational excellence\n\nA Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience\n\nWe’d love to see:\nExperience building workflow, transaction-processing, order-management, or other business-process platforms\n\nExperience working across both frontend and backend systems\n\nFamiliarity with event-driven architectures, message brokers, and asynchronous processing\n\nExperience with technologies such as RabbitMQ, relational databases, REST or GraphQL APIs, and workflow-orchestration platforms\n\nExperience designing systems that coordinate across multiple services or domains while handling partial failures and recovery\n\nDemonstrated interest in domain-driven design and simplifying complex business processes\n\nSalary Range = 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus\nThe referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting.
