Successful candidates will join a team focused on one or more of the following areas:\nCloud Adoption & Governance\nWorkload onboarding and enablement, governance automation, runtime security posture management, and AI onboarding and governance patterns.\nCompute Platforms\nCloud compute foundations, runtime standards, platform integrations, and multi-cloud compute capabilities.\nCompute Deployment\nTrusted compute delivery, image lifecycle management, publishing workflows, provenance, and software supply chain capabilities.\nNetworking & Connectivity Platform\nCloud networking APIs, hybrid connectivity, network automation, and connectivity controls.\nIdentity & Access Platform\nHuman and workload identity, access governance, secrets and certificate lifecycle management, and cloud access foundations.\nWhile individual roles are typically aligned to a specific platform domain, engineers within Public Cloud Engineering collaborate closely to deliver a cohesive cloud experience for Bloomberg's engineering community.\nWhat's in it for you\nYou will help build and evolve the foundational platforms that power Bloomberg's public cloud strategy. Working alongside engineers with deep expertise across cloud infrastructure, software engineering, security, networking, identity, and reliability, you will have the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges at enterprise scale.\nYou will design and deliver solutions that enable engineering teams to adopt public cloud technologies securely and efficiently. From defining platform capabilities and automation to improving developer experiences and operational excellence, your work will directly influence how Bloomberg builds, deploys, secures, and operates applications in public cloud environments.\nYou will also have the opportunity to partner closely with stakeholders across Engineering, Security, SRE, and Infrastructure organizations while learning from experts across multiple cloud and platform domains.\nWe'll trust you to\nDesign, build, and operate scalable platform capabilities that enable Bloomberg's adoption of public cloud technologies\n\nDevelop self-service tooling, APIs, automation, and workflows that improve the developer experience and reduce operational complexity\n\nPartner with engineering, security, SRE, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements and drive platform adoption\n\nBuild reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions within your platform domain while contributing to broader Public Cloud Engineering initiatives\n\nUse software engineering and infrastructure-as-code practices to automate platform operations and improve service quality\n\nHelp define standards, best practices, and paved-road experiences for engineering teams building on public cloud\n\nContribute to the architecture, implementation, and long-term evolution of Bloomberg's public cloud platforms\n\nYou'll need to have\n4+ years of professional software engineering, infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering experience\n\nStrong programming skills in one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++\n\nExperience designing, building, or operating production systems at scale\n\nStrong Linux/Unix fundamentals\n\nExperience with one or more public cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform\n\nExperience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform\n\nStrong understanding of software engineering principles, distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\n\nA demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for automation and drive solutions from design through implementation\n\nA strong sense of ownership and a desire to solve complex technical problems\n\nWe'd love to see\nExperience building internal developer platforms, cloud platforms, or self-service engineering capabilities\n\nExperience in one or more of the following areas:\n\nCloud governance, security, and compliance automation\n\nIdentity and access management\n\nSecrets, certificate, or key management systems\n\nCloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and network automation\n\nCompute platforms, runtime environments, and workload orchestration\n\nSoftware supply chain security and trusted deployment systems\n\nObservability, telemetry, reliability engineering, and incident management\n\nPlatform APIs, orchestration systems, and developer tooling\n\nExperience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies\n\nExperience building highly available, distributed systems\n\nExperience contributing to shared platforms used by multiple engineering teams\n\nExperience working in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments\n\nContributions to open-source software or cloud-native communities\n\nSalary Range = 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus\nThe referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting.
