You will set the vision, define the roadmap, and ensure delivery of a secure, scalable backup and recovery platform for Bloomberg Engineering. Leading a team of infrastructure and software engineers, you’ll work closely with Engineering COO and partners to ensure the platform consistently enforces backup and recovery policies and aligns with regulatory and operational requirements, safeguarding Bloomberg’s irreplaceable production data.\nWe’ll trust you to:\nInspire and motivate the team to achieve outstanding results, while supporting individual growth and development\nBuild partnerships with internal teams, and external stakeholders so that problems are well understood and solutions are aligned with expectations.\nOrganize and prioritize the backlog of work with the team and stakeholders so that the most important and impactful work is addressed first\nWork with the engineers in the team to deliver high quality solutions that adhere to best practices.\nCreate and execute on the strategy for backup and recovery product\nDrive technology vision, roadmap, and its execution\nYou’ll need to have:\nProven technical leadership experience, growing talent, and guiding technical direction.\nCoding skills in C++, Python, or similar languages for performance testing and optimization tools.\nStrong analytical and data-driven approach to solving complex system challenges.\nAbility to collaborate effectively across engineering, COO, vendor and sourcing teams, both internal and externally.\nWe would love to see:\nExperience managing technical teams and projects\nExperience managing a highly visible distributed large system.\nA track record of building teams, aligning them with product, technical and compliance objectives.\nDemonstrated ability to create a team culture where individuals feel safe to innovate, share knowledge, independently assess risks and grow.\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to network across various teams and stakeholders to influence outcomes.\nIf indicated, please note that years of experience are a guide;
