Working with clients and cross-functional teams, the architect evaluates technology options, resolves architectural risks, guides engineers, and ensures solutions support maintainable, high-performing digital experiences.\n\nLocation: Remote - United States\nKey ResponsibilitiesAEM Solution Architecture & Technical Direction\nLead architecture and technical direction for sophisticated AEM-centric websites, content management, and digital experience solutions, including integration with other enterprise systems.\n\nTranslate business and technical requirements into architecture designs covering system boundaries, interfaces, data flows, deployment approaches, performance, security, and maintainability.\n\nEvaluate AEM and adjacent platform capabilities, existing infrastructure, implementation constraints, technical debt, and build-versus-buy options; document decisions and tradeoffs.\n\nDiagnose client technical environments and recommend practical architecture and performance improvements.\n\nDelivery Governance & Engineering Quality\nGuide full-lifecycle solution delivery, including technical discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, and solution readiness.\n\nGovern implementation quality through design reviews, architecture checkpoints, risk and exception management, and clear architectural decision records.\n\nProvide technical direction to engineering teams on scalable implementation patterns, integrations, troubleshooting, and web performance.\n\nAssess complex technical issues, develop solution options, and present recommendations and long-term implications to stakeholders.\n\nClient, Presales & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with client leaders and internal Solutions, Product, Data, Quality, Delivery, and Engineering teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.\n\nSupport presales discovery, technical scoping, feasibility analysis, solution estimates, and identification of risks and dependencies.\n\nCommunicate sophisticated architecture decisions clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences and build trusted client relationships.\n\nMentorship & Practice Improvement\nMentor Lead Engineers and Engineers, provide technical guidance, and support knowledge sharing and effective project delivery practices.\n\nDevelop reusable architecture patterns, accelerators, standards, and lessons learned; stay current with AEM capabilities and evolving engineering practices.\n\nRequired Skills & ExperienceArchitecture & Consulting Leadership\n10+ years of relevant software engineering, solution architecture, web content management, or equivalent technical experience, aligned with the 5B Technical Architect level.\n\nExperience owning architecture and key technical decisions for complex client engagements, products, or digital solution domains.\n\nExperience translating functional and nonfunctional requirements into solution designs, implementation plans, estimates, and architecture decisions.\n\nStrong client consulting, stakeholder facilitation, written and verbal communication, and technical presentation skills.\n\nAdobe Experience Manager & Web Technologies\nDemonstrated expertise designing and leading Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions and integrations with enterprise systems.\n\nProficiency in object-oriented design and Java-based application architecture; understanding of web application performance, troubleshooting, and optimization.\n\nKnowledge of web and integration technologies such as RESTful services, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, SQL, HTTP, web servers, and content delivery networks.\n\nAbility to evaluate architectural tradeoffs, reliability, security, scalability, technical debt, and production-readiness considerations.\n\nDelivery, Collaboration & Governance\nExperience conducting design reviews, managing technical risks and dependencies, and guiding engineering teams through complex implementation challenges.\n\nExperience working with Agile delivery approaches, including Scrum, and supporting technical scoping and estimation.\n\nAbility to mentor engineers and collaborate across product, data, quality, delivery, and client teams.\n\nAbility to travel up to 40% as required by client assignments.\n\nPreferred Skills & Experience\nExperience with AEM as a Cloud Service and AEM-specific technologies such as Apache Sling, OSGi, JCR, Dispatcher, and related caching or CDN configurations.\n\nFamiliarity with UNIX/Linux environments, Apache web servers, TCP/IP networking, debugging tools, and advanced XML integration patterns.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nRole ExpectationsLead architecture and technical delivery within an assigned engagement, product, or domain; make key discipline decisions, manage architecture risks, mentor engineers, and drive high-quality outcomes. An 85% utilization target applies.
