Our Production Brewer will execute our brewing process from roasted beans to the final product, working with our Brewery Team Lead, Brewery Leader, and Production Team Members to not just maintain but elevate our quality standards.\nThis is a full-time, hourly position requiring an onsite presence at our Gilman production facility. You will be a critical member of the production department, a team united by the basic love of producing great coffee.\nYou Will\nWork with our Brewery Team Lead in all brewing aspects including mashing, filtration, clean-in-place, and packaging. This includes weighing, grinding, mashing-in coffee in batches; graining out, filtering, and transferring coffee; pulling brew samples and quality control; supporting our canning runs, and more.\n\nPerform Clean in Place procedures as directed on tanks, tuns, and canning machinery.\n\nCreate and manage extensive and scrupulous notes detailing accurate batch history and coffee metrics using Google Sheets or other available online record keeping tools.\n\nMaintain our plumbing, canning, and brewing equipment, ensuring it’s in top form for all brewing needs and perform regularly scheduled maintenance on equipment.\n\nOperate heavy machinery including electric power jacks and forklifts.\n\nParticipate in QC tastings and cuppings to develop and strengthen your palate.\n\nWork packaging shifts regularly so that you engage in each step of the process. Support the production team when needed.\n\nKeep all work areas clean, organized, functional for you and your team.\n\nWork within all specified Safety Guidelines, including the use of PPE where necessary.\n\nTrain and mentor Production Team Members.\n\nFollow and support all Food Safety, Quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices rules and regulations.\n\nYou Are\nPassionate about coffee, questions for your team and partners\n\nYou Have\nWorking knowledge of basic hardware and tools\n\nExperience working in a fast paced environment (ideally in production)\n\nBasic math and writing skills\n\nThe ability to read and speak English proficiently\n\nA minimum of one year of food and beverage manufacturing experience, preferably beverage brewing\n\nFamiliarity with Microsoft and Google software suites\n\nSuperb judgment and integrity, including excellent decision-making skills and a bias to action\n\nLast but not least, a deep love for great coffee, food, and exceptional customer experience\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThe ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time (at least 8 hours per day and 5 days per week)\n\nThe use of hands to handle or feel and the ability to reach with hands and arms\n\nThe ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch\n\nThe ability to squat, bend, twist and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders\n\nThe ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds\n\nThe ability to listen and speak\n\nThe ability to climb ladders, stairs, ramps and uneven floor and/or surfaces as needed\n\nThe ability to have close visual acuity to perform repetitive visual checking, counting, spotting small defects, determine accuracy of numbers\n\nThis role takes place in a production warehouse environment and may involve exposure to environmental conditions, including elevated temperatures from roasting and processing equipment, mechanical noise, and cooler temperatures in storage
