Join our innovative and dynamic company as we build, test and operate the small spacecraft of the future.\nTitle:Propulsion Systems Engineer II\nPosition Type: Full Time\nPay Range: $80,000 - $130,000\n(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)\nOn-site position at our Lafayette, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).\nBenefits:\nEmployer sponsored health, dental, and vision benefits effective the first of the month following hire date\nLife insurance\n401k (matching 4% with a minimum 5% contribution)\nGenerous PTO (3 weeks of vacation + 3 floating holidays, 2 weeks of sick time, 7 paid holidays throughout the year) and parental leave\nJob Responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain spacecraft delta-v and/or propellant budgets, given mission-level requirements\nCreate/confirm propulsion subsystem designs\nDevelop and manage propulsion subsystem and component requirements and verification techniques\nDevelop tools for propulsion subsystem performance analyses\nOversee propulsion component and/or subsystem development, design, qualification, and verification efforts\nDevelop interface specifications, CONOPS definition, subsystem description documents, and other design documents related to propulsion subsystems\nAuthor and manage propulsion hardware vendor specifications, requests for information, and statements of work\nAssist with customer meetings and facilitate technical exchanges with customers and vendors\nAssist with proposals and facilitate technical exchanges with the engineering team\nManage subcontract vendors to ensure high quality and timely product delivery\nSupport program design reviews\nCollaborate closely with technical program leads across diverse domain expertise\nSupport the allocation of driving requirements (both cost and technical)\nSupport key trades (both cost and technical)\nOther responsibilities as assigned\nRequired Qualifications/Education:\n2+ years of relevant experience\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science discipline, or equivalent\nExperience with all phases of the program lifecycle (business development, mission formulation, requirements flow-down, manufacturing, integration and test, and on-orbit operations)\nSystem design experience, balancing performance, cost, power, emerging technologies, etc.\nAbility to perform trade studies and parametric analyses\nAbility to develop procurement documents (specification, SOW) and manage subcontracts\nGood documentation and communication skills\nAbility to work rapidly with some supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams\nMust be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasis in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities\nRelated technical experience may be considered in lieu of education\nWorking Conditions:\nThis job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
