You’ll be part of a phased modernization program, fixing security vulnerabilities in web applications and moving legacy systems to .NET 8+ on AWS. An IT Manager sets the roadmap and priorities, and you’ll work closely with the client’s IT and cybersecurity teams to deliver it.\nMuch of the code you’ll work on is legacy, so solid experience with C#, VB.NET, and VB6 is essential. The rest of the stack (Classic ASP, PHP, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access) you can pick up along the way. If you are fluent in English and enjoy digging into older code to make it secure and modern, this role is a good fit. Our jobs are fully remote, and you will be integrated directly into the client’s team.\nHere are some of the exciting day-to-day challenges you will face in this role:\nIdentify security vulnerabilities and modernization opportunities, and execute the roadmap set by the IT Manager\nRemediate security findings from penetration tests, code reviews, and automated scanning tools.\nModernize and enhance legacy applications.\nRefactor, redesign, and migrate applications to current frameworks and security standards.\nDevelop, test, deploy, and maintain secure web applications and services.\nApply secure coding practices and keep applications compliant with the client's security requirements.\nTroubleshoot and resolve application defects.\nTake part in phased deployments and post-deployment support.\nYou will shine if you have:\nA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n5+ years of software development experience in Microsoft-based environments.\nStrong hands-on experience with C# and VB.NET.\nSolid experience working with Visual Basic 6 (VB6) applications.\nExperience with relational databases, ideally Microsoft SQL Server.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage several assignments at once.\nFluent English and availability to work US time zone hours in a fast-paced, agile environment.\nIt doesn’t hurt if you also:\nHave experience modernizing legacy applications to .NET 8 or later.\nHave worked with ASP.NET, Classic ASP, or PHP.\nHave worked with Microsoft Access (32- and 64-bit).\nHave experience with AWS.\nHave hands-on experience fixing web application vulnerabilities such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS), and know authentication, authorization, input validation, and session management.\nHave worked with automated security scanning tools.\nHave experience with REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and
