This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.As an Electrical Responsible Engineer III, you will be responsible for the end-to-end build, test, qualification, troubleshooting, and delivery of avionics boxes. You will also be involved with design & analysis of circuitry inside the box. Interfacing and working well with other design, test engineers, technicians, and leadership will be required.
This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities:
- Oversight of and responsibility for build, test, qualification, and delivery of completed avionics boxes to engine customer.
- Troubleshooting, documentation, and disposition of non-conformances as they occur during product lifecycle
- Electrical design & analysis of sub-circuitry, potentially including analog instrumentation, digital communication, power electronics, motor drives.
- Track and maintain box & board configurations across builds and test campaigns
- Routinely present program status and issues, including at Material Review Board.
- Identify root cause failure modes using formal methodologies, such as fault tree.
- Interface with engineers & technicians across design & test to execute tests and perform design tasks
- Interface with internal manufacturing/customers, and external circuit card houses to push builds forward and resolve issues
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in electronics hardware development and test.
- Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital circuit design, analysis, test, and debug.
- Experience taking electronics assemblies through full qualification, including Shock, Vibration, Thermal, EMI tests
- Highly organized teammate with excellent technical skills (written and verbal)
- Experience with data reduction/analysis and system troubleshooting in a lab or test environment.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in related engineering or technical field.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power conversion, grounding, and general board layout principles.
- Understanding of mechanical packaging of avionics in harsh environmental conditions.
- Knowledge of EMI issues related to precision analog or high voltage design.
- Proficiency using CAD layout tools to craft sophisticated printed circuit boards; and experience working with external board manufacturing and assembly vendors.
Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70Other site ranges may differ

- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
