Please indicate in the application where you would be willing to be located.\nSeattle, WA\nHuntsville, AL\nCape Canaveral, FL\nResponsibilities:\nDesign production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment for the Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn business units.\nCapable of integrating concepts and principles of mechanical design and analysis of several projects in a fast-paced environment -- projects will vary in size and scale.\nAbility to interpret and apply sound design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) when creating drawings.\nHandle a wide range of technical design challenges related to all types of assembly fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines.\nClose collaboration with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering to achieve the best possible cradle-to-grave metrics (safety, cost, quality, cycle time, delivery, reliability, life, and maintenance/refurbishment)\nManage projects, including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, equipment installation, proof testing, and commissioning of custom tooling, with support.\nSet, implement, and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure project completion.\nQualifications:\nMinimum of a BS Degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering field. \nWill have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026. \nBasic understanding in the fundamentals of design (requirements identification, material selection, input definition, form factors, interface definition, environmental considerations, etc.) \nBasic proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E preferred) including drawing creation. \nBasic proficiency in strength and mechanics of materials. \nBasic proficiency in structural analysis including Free-body diagrams, hand calculations, etc. \nBasic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred). \nRelevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities. \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs. \nFlexible and adaptable mindset. \nSelf-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction. \nDesired:\nStrong expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) including experience taking products from development design to rate production\nFamiliarity with design of mechanical equipment or systems.\nProven understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines such as CNC machining, manual mills and lathes, welding, sheet-metal bending, lifting/rigging, assembly, inspection, etc.\nFamiliarity with industry standards, such as ASME BTH-1, aluminum design manual, and AISC\nExperience with custom machine design: motors, actuators, linear rails/actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, etc.\nExperience with Creo and Windchill CAD/PDM systems\nExperience with NX and Teamcenter CAD/PDM systems\nExperience with Analysis packages such as: ANSYS Workbench, FEMAP Pre/Post processing, NASTRAN Solver, NX Advance Simulation, etc.\nBase Pay Range for:\nWA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85Other site ranges may differ\nCulture Statement\nDon’t meet all desired requirements?
