Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!\nThis role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.We are looking for a dynamic Mission & Flight Operations Manager / Sr Manager to lead teams that plan and execute safe, efficient operations for Blue Origin vehicles and payloads from hardware receipt through day-of-operations and post-flight.\nYou will own the operational execution of launch, test, and mission activities, coordinating across vehicle, payload, and ground systems while developing and mentoring a high-performing team of technicians, controllers, and engineers. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your\nPosition Specific Details:\nShifts: A Shift Monday- Friday 8am -4:30pm\n\nLocation: Space Coast, FL\n\nRelocation: Available\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead day-to-day mission and flight operations for assigned vehicles, payloads, and/or launch complexes, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution.\n\nDevelop, maintain, and execute integrated operations plans, procedures, and schedules for processing, test, and mission activities across facilities, teams, and shared resources.\n\nManage a team of technicians, controllers, and/or engineers, including recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and career development.\n\nAct as a working manager when needed, supporting or leading hands-on integration, checkout, and test of flight and ground systems in the field or control room.\n\nOwn and maintain operations procedures, checklists, launch and test timelines, and mission rules; ensure configuration control and alignment with engineering intent and safety requirements.\n\nCollaborate with Safety, Systems Engineering, Operations, Range, and program teams to identify hazards, support system and process hazard analyses, and implement mitigations.\n\nMaintain real-time situational awareness during on-console and field operations; coordinate go/no-go decisions and start/stop of hazardous operations in partnership with safety, range, and engineering authorities.\n\nTrack team readiness, qualifications, and certifications; own training plans, simulations, and drills to prepare crews for nominal and off-nominal scenarios.\n\nOversee maintenance, calibration, and readiness of ground support equipment (GSE), tooling, and operations infrastructure, including configuration changes and planned outages.\n\nManage operations budgets and resource allocations within the Annual Operating Plan; provide input to capital and staffing plans.\n\nCoordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., vehicle and payload programs, mission management, customers, and range organizations) to align operational plans, resolve conflicts, and support mission objectives.\n\nDrive continuous improvement through data-based problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.\n\nEnsure compliance with Blue Origin policies, procedures, and directives, as well as applicable regulatory, range, and environmental requirements.\n\nCommunicate status, risks, and readiness to leadership through clear reports and participation in reviews, readiness assessments, and mission/launch boards.\n\nTeam Focus & Domain Expertise\nLaunch Operations sits at the heart of Blue Origin’s launch and spaceflight systems, turning design intent into hard data, clean checkouts, and flight confidence. Our managers own the strategy and execution of integrated test campaigns for avionics, GSE, and flight hardware - from first power-on and subsystem verification to full-stack vehicle and pad-level tests that clear the way for launch day.\nYou won’t just ensure procedures are followed; you’ll set the vision for smarter, faster, more resilient ways to test and drive your organization to deliver them. You’ll lead leaders and multidisciplinary teams that develop and refine automated test systems, data acquisition architectures, and instrumentation strategies that push test coverage, increase speed, and boost confidence for every mission. Technical depth in areas such as digital/analog electronics, power systems, communications, sensors, DAQ, and test automation (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools) will let you dive deep when it matters - asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, reviewing critical designs, and setting the technical bar for your portfolio of systems.\nSafety and mission assurance are our north star, and the stakes are real. You’ll apply rigorous test engineering and safety-by-design principles while building and leading a disciplined operations organization that validates systems that must work the first time, every time - supporting a high launch cadence while protecting crew, payloads, and ground personnel. Managers who thrive here combine sharp technical judgment with calm, decisive leadership under pressure, shaping culture, priorities, and readiness. They bring the energy that comes with seeing their teams’ work roll to the pad, count down, and fly to space.\nMission & Flight Operations Managers provide strategic and frontline leadership at the sharp end of the mission - where hardware, people, and procedures come together to put vehicles and payloads into space. Depending on your background and scope, you may own operations such as:\nLaunch Vehicle & Ground Operations - Being accountable for teams performing vehicle integration, pad or test stand operations, ground fluid system operations (cryogenic, pneumatic, hydraulic), avionics/electrical checkout, and hands-on support to countdown and test events. You ensure the people, processes, and hardware come together to turn a static vehicle on the stand into a launch-ready system.\n\nPayload & Processing Operations - Managing supervisors and teams responsible for payload or spacecraft handling, integration, encapsulation, and facility operations, often in controlled or cleanroom environments. Your organization ensures every payload is treated with the care and precision worthy of its science, mission, or customer.\n\nTransportation & Handling - Owning the planning and execution of the movement, rigging, lifting, and securing of large or critical flight hardware using specialized transport and material handling equipment. You define the standards and oversee the choreography that moves high-value hardware safely from factory floor to launch pad.\n\nYou’re expected to bring solid hands-on operations experience in at least one of these domains, along with a proven ability to build, develop, and lead disciplined, procedure-driven teams in a high-consequence environment. In this role, you’ll set direction and priorities, grow and mentor supervisors and technical leaders, and own real-time risk and go/no-go decisions that directly shape mission outcomes. If you’re motivated by tight timelines, complex hardware, and the adrenaline of seeing entire organizations you lead execute a successful countdown and launch, this is where you’ll feel at home.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, operations, or a related technical field; or equivalent hands-on experience in a complex operational environment.\n\n5+ years of experience in mission/flight operations, launch operations, flight test, range operations, or complex aerospace/industrial operations (8+ years for Sr Manager).\n\n2+ years of people leadership experience managing technicians, controllers, operators, or engineers in a high-consequence operational environment (4+ years for Sr Manager).\n\nDirect experience planning and executing complex operations involving hazardous systems (e.g., cryogenic, pneumatic, hydraulic, high-voltage, high-pressure, ordnance, propellants).\n\nExperience creating and managing operations schedules and resource plans using tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent.\n\nDemonstrated ability to perform in dynamic, time-critical situations, making sound decisions under pressure and clearly communicating intent and status.\n\nProficiency with standard office and operations software, with the ability to quickly learn new digital tools and operations/planning systems.\n\nStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a history of effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.\n\nWilling and able to support non-standard hours (nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call/surge support), work in field/industrial environments (outdoors, PPE, ladders, hazardous or restricted areas), and travel occasionally to other Blue Origin sites and launch/test locations.\n\nMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n7+ years (Manager) / 10+ years (Sr Manager) of relevant aerospace or space launch experience with complex engineering systems (e.g., launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, propulsion/test facilities).\n\n3+ years (Manager) / 5+ years (Sr Manager) of people management experience, including hiring, performance management, and development of high-performing operations teams.\n\nExperience leading at least one of the following: launch pad or test stand operations (including countdown and on-console roles); payload processing and encapsulation in cleanroom environments; mission/control center or flight test control-room operations; or launch site/complex coordination (hazard area management and access control).\n\nHands-on expertise in at least one relevant technical domain, such as launch vehicle or payload integration; ground fluid systems (cryogenic, pneumatic, hydraulic); avionics, instrumentation, or electrical checkout; ordnance/explosives; or propellant/hazardous material processing.\n\nWorking knowledge of safety and regulatory frameworks such as range safety requirements, OSHA/NFPA standards, explosives and hazardous materials regulations, and environmental/transportation regulations (e.g., 49 CFR, 40 CFR).\n\nExperience with system safety and process hazard analyses (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP, fault tree analysis).\n\nExperience using data and metrics for operational performance management and continuous improvement, including ERP/MRP and/or maintenance management systems.\n\nFormal training or certifications in operations management, project management, Lean, or Six Sigma.\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance if required by program (e.g., Secret or TS/SCI).\n\nCulture Statement\nDon’t meet all desired requirements? Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification. At Blue Origin, we are dedicated to building an authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every desired qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.\nExport Control Regulations\nApplicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.\nBackground Check\nRequired for all positions: Blue’s Standard Background Check\nRequired for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation\nRequired for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Comme...","description_format":"text","description_chars":15241,"description_truncated":true,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":10,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":true,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Life insurance","Parental leave","Stock options"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":["Launch Services","Space Services"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-19T23:39:58Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Filed H-1B visas in the last two years","filings_12m":0,"filings_prev_12m":1,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-15T11:24:14+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":81,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":0.9,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":11,"expected_fill_days":43,"reasons":["conf:73","velocity","win:early","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-25T05:49:26Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/blue-origin-launch-ops-managerssr-managers-multiple-levels-multiple-shifts","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/blue-origin-launch-ops-managerssr-managers-multiple-levels-multiple-shifts.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-25T06:10:12Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":8418,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-26T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":3698},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=3698"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fblue-origin-launch-ops-managerssr-managers-multiple-levels-multiple-shifts"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fblue-origin-launch-ops-managerssr-managers-multiple-levels-multiple-shifts"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fblue-origin-launch-ops-managerssr-managers-multiple-levels-multiple-shifts"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/blue-origin-launch-ops-managerssr-managers-multiple-levels-multiple-shifts\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fblue-origin-launch-ops-managerssr-managers-multiple-levels-multiple-shifts"}]}
