To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.We are looking talented M&P Engineers to join our growing Lunar Permanence team and build a strong M&P Engineering division dedicated to safely and successfully delivering the Lunar objectives at Blue Origin.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide broad support for aerospace grade EEE materials and processes including: printed circuit boards and assemblies (PCB/PWA), electronic component materials and finishes, soldering, plating and surface finishes, wire and cable, connectors and harnesses, conformal coating, staking, potting, adhesive bonding, cleaning, and contamination control. \nProvide design engineering support such that EEE parts, materials, and processes meet necessary requirements for all vehicle systems \nExecute characterization and qualification efforts related to EEE materials and processes \nResponsible for M&P signatory review and release of engineering drawings for EEE parts and assemblies \nSupport internal and external M&P efforts, including development of specifications, supplier qualification, First Article Inspection, process and material testing, and customer-facing updates \nSupport the development of internal engineering and quality processes to standardize and accelerate material evaluation, implementation, and qualification \nWork with cross-functional teams within the Lunar organization and other business units. \nQualifications:\nB.S. degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline. \n8+ Years of demonstrated M&P Engineering experience supporting aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability electronic hardware \nExpertise in aerospace EEE components, including PCB, PCBA, cable and wire harnesses, connectors, and associated electronic materials.\nStrong familiarity with aerospace EEE materials and processes requirements, applicable IPC and NASA workmanship standards, characterization methods, and industry best practices \nStrong understanding of and direct experience with electronic component construction, materials, finishes, manufacturing processes, and material-related failure mechanisms \nStrong understanding of and direct experience with PCB/PWA fabrication and assembly; including soldering, plating and finishes, wire and cable, connectors and harnesses, conformal coating, staking, underfill, encapsulation, adhesive bonding, cleaning, and contamination control. \nExperience with ESD control, ionic contamination/cleanliness, corrosion prevention, lead-free electronics, tin whisker mitigation, solderability evaluation, and component refinishing.\nExperience reviewing and qualifying EEE materials and manufacturing processes for high-reliability electronic hardware \nKnowledge of radiation effects, outgassing requirements, contamination, corrosion, flammability, toxicity, material compatibility and environmental qualification for high-reliability electronic hardware\nExperience reviewing engineering drawings, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings, schematics, specifications, BOMs, ECNs/ECOs, and manufacturing documentation\nWorking knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, IPC-6012 with applicable Space Addendum, IPC J-STD-011 with Space Addendum, IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space Addendum, IPC-7095, and IPC-7711/7721\nWorking knowledge of NASA/JPL standards and requirements for EEE components, including NASA-STD-8739 series, NASA-STD-6012, NASA EEE-INST-002, ASTM E595, and JPL workmanship and materials requirements.\nStrong knowledge of failure analysis, root cause analysis, reliability engineering, FRACAS, and material compatibility assessments\nExperience supporting supplier qualification, supplier audits, process validation, manufacturing issue resolution, and corrective actions for electronic hardware and assemblies\nAbility to travel to support development and testing opportunities at other Blue Origin and vendor sites. \nAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. \nMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. \nDesired:\nM.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Material Science, Electrical Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or related field \nExperience supporting aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability electronic hardware \nExperience with supplier qualification, special process assessments, or failure investigations for electronic hardware \nExperience with EEE materials/process qualification and production implementation \nFamiliarity with automotive electronics standards, including AEC-Q100/Q101/Q200, IATF 16949, AIAG APQP, PPAP, and ISO 26262.\nBase Pay Range for:\nCA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20\nCO applicants is $133,500.00 - $186,898.95\nWA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20Other site ranges may differ\nCulture Statement\nDon’t meet all desired requirements?
