Join us as we work to lower the cost of access to space and enable Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth!\nAs a Senior Proposal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing high level architectures and rough orders of magnitude (ROM) costs for cryogenic test systems and facilities to support Blue Origin’s space vehicles. Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include design of these fluids and structural systems, coordinating with suppliers and support of construction and commissioning. Finally, the role offers opportunities for mentorship of new engineers through peer reviews and teaching of fluids and structural design principals.\nWe are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! \nResponsibilities:\nOwn the preliminary design and cost estimation of high-pressure gas and cryogenic test systems. \nWrite formal memos summarizing trade studies and test stand architecture selection. \nCoordinate with test article owners on refinement of project scope and requirements. \nLead Process Hazard Analysis activities for fluid systems (HAZOP). \nManage suppliers and coordinate cost, schedule, and technical design requirements. \nProvide remote and on-the-ground support during fabrication, installation, and start up of new facilities or upgrades. \nMentor newer engineers and perform peer reviews. \n Qualifications:\nB.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. \n10+ years of experience designing complex structural and/or fluids systems within a safety critical environment. \nDemonstrated ability in fluid analysis and piping design including process component selection and process fluid design architecture. \nIn depth knowledge of fluid system components (i.e. valves, regulators and pumps for cryogenics, propellants, and other fluids). \nKnowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.) including ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC codes. \nDemonstrated leadership and/or mentorship of teams in a technical setting. \nOrganized self-starter, capable of breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks and concisely communicating project status. \nClear communicator with experience presenting concepts to broad discipline audiences. \nMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. \n Desired:\nExperience with ProEngineer/Creo, Windchill, and ProPiping \nExperience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Plant/P&ID \nExperience with static and non-linear FEA analysis (ANSYS) \nCompetency with Bentley AutoPipe, CAESAR, and AFT Arrow/Fathom or equivalent software packages \nProven application of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance to machining drawings \nBase Pay Range for:\nWA applicants is $169,624.00 - $237,473.25Other site ranges may differ\nCulture Statement\nDon’t meet all desired requirements?
