Through Blue Ring, our all-in-one, high-powered hybrid solar-electric and chemical-propelled spacecraft, we provide unmatched mission maneuverability, versatility, and capacity at dramatically lower-profile costs.As a Senior Aerospace Software Engineer on our team, you will take a leading role in designing, developing, and deploying software that is critical to the success of our missions. You will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex software projects and mentor other engineers. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a variety of software applications, from onboard flight control systems and flight analysis tools to mission planning and simulation software. We are looking for a versatile and passionate software engineer who is excited to build the tools that will enable our space flight systems to meet mission requirements. Your work will directly impact our ability to design, test, and fly our vehicles safely and reliably.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nLead the design, development, and maintenance of software applications for aerospace systems.\nCollaborate with systems engineers, mission designers, and other stakeholders to define software requirements and architecture.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.\nDevelop user interfaces that are intuitive, efficient, and meet the needs of our operators.\nCreate and maintain software for data processing, analysis, and visualization.\nDevelop and maintain simulation software for testing and verification of aerospace systems.\nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment.\nWork in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software on schedule.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n8+ years of professional software development experience.\nStrong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++.\nExperience with front-end and/or back-end application development.\nExperience with software development in a Linux environment.\nSolid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.\nApplicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster's degree in Computer Science or a related field.\nExperience with system design and architecture.\nExperience with web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Django, Flask).\nExperience with database design and development (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).\nExperience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).\nExperience in the aerospace industry.\nExperience leading software projects and mentoring other engineers.\nBase Pay Range for:\nCO applicants is $181,626.00 - $254,275.35Other site ranges may differ\nCulture Statement\nDon’t meet all desired requirements?
