This network will service tens of thousands of enterprise, data center, and government users who require reliable connectivity for critical operations.Position Overview\nBlue Origin’s TeraWave Gateway team is developing advanced ground infrastructure to support high-capacity satellite communications. The Senior Engineer - Gateway Hardware Systems will contribute to the development, evaluation, and optimization of electronic hardware and components used in gateway subsystems.\nThis role is suited to an engineer with a strong foundation in electrical engineering, semiconductor technologies, microelectronics, and hardware development. The engineer will work closely with RF, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to evaluate electronic components, assess emerging technologies, support hardware design decisions, and address component-level performance, integration interfaces, thermal, and packaging considerations.\nThe successful candidate will apply a combination of device-level understanding, circuit analysis, experimental characterization, and practical hardware-development experience to help deliver reliable, manufacturable, and scalable gateway hardware.\nKey Responsibilities\nGateway Electronic Hardware Development\nSemiconductor and Electronic Component Engineering\nCircuit Analysis and Hardware Characterization\nHardware Interfaces, Packaging, and Thermal Considerations\nTechnology Evaluation and Continuous Improvement\nCross-Functional Engineering Collaboration\nBasic Qualifications\nPh.D. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Devices, or a related engineering discipline.\nProfessional experience in semiconductor technologies, electronic hardware development, microelectronics, or device characterization.\nUnderstanding of electronic circuits, semiconductor device behavior, and fundamental electrical engineering principles.\nExperience with circuit simulation or engineering analysis tools such as OrCAD, PSpice, MATLAB, or equivalent.\nDemonstrated ability to analyze technical data, investigate hardware problems, and develop evidence-based engineering recommendations.\nExperience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines to develop or improve hardware products.\nStrong technical communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with semiconductor devices, MEMS, photonic devices, sensors, or other advanced electronic technologies.\nFamiliarity with analog and digital circuit concepts, electronic interfaces, and hardware design considerations.\nExperience with hardware prototyping, electrical characterization, experimental design, or root-cause analysis.\nProficiency in Python or MATLAB for engineering analysis and data processing.\nUnderstanding of electronic packaging, thermal management, reliability, and design for manufacturability.\nExperience working with component suppliers, manufacturing partners, or cross-functional hardware-development teams.\nExposure to RF or microwave communication hardware, high-frequency electronic components, or telecommunications infrastructure.\nFamiliarity with PCB design, electronic subsystem development, or system-level hardware interfaces.\n\nBase Pay Range for:\nCA applicants is $197,529.00 - $276,539.55\nWA applicants is $197,529.00 - $276,539.55Other site ranges may differ\nCulture Statement\nDon’t meet all desired requirements?
