The qualified Vice President will be open to new ideas and processes and help the Company institutionalize existing practices while working with the support of a highly collaborative team.\nResponsibilities\nFinancial ReportingOversee and accurately report financial data, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting, valuation, and financial reporting in accordance with deadlines\nPrepare monthly net asset value and price per share in accordance with PPM documents\nServe as the subject matter expert for financial reporting questions, including technical GAAP historical cost and fair value reporting accounting treatment\nDemonstrate strong understanding of real estate investment structures, mortgage documents, development agreements, partnership agreements, and purchase and sale agreements\nDetermine the accounting and financial statement impacts due to significant transactions such as acquisitions, leases, and segment reporting to ensure accurate financial presentation\nOversee third parties, monitoring their compliance with responsibilities, budgets, and deadlines\nCommunicate effectively with CFO and CAO, providing regular and ad hoc communications, reporting, and analysis\nCoordinate and prepare financial statements and disclosures on Forms 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K with the SEC on a historical cost basis\nCoordinate with investment and asset management teams regarding property acquisitions/dispositions and ongoing property operations\n\nAuditManage audit deadlines\nAnswer various questions from the audit and tax teams\nCoordinate the timely conclusion of audit reports\n\nFund AdministrationManage relationship with fund administrator and property managers\nReview the following prepared by the fund administrator:Incentive fee allocations and calculations\nManagement fee allocations and calculations\nAcquisition entries ad hoc\nMonthly NAV closes\n\nAd Hoc ReportingWork with investments team on ad hoc reports for current portfolio and acquisitions\n\nImplement effective internal controls, recommend to management the implementation of policies, procedures, processes, and controls based on continual analysis of current accounting processes.\nQualifications\n7+ years of real estate accounting experience. Candidates with exposure with real estate private equity, non-traded REITs or public REITs, with backgrounds as Big 4 auditors and/or relevant industry experience will be considered.\nStrong technical accounting skills with an emphasis on Historical Cost and Fair Value basis of accounting for real estate.\nSEC reporting experience including Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other transactional offerings.\nAbility to understand leases, debt agreements, and private placement memorandums.\nMust be deadline focused, organized, and exhibit problem-solving skills, able to handle multiple weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines at the same time.\nLeverage AI as a tool to drive efficiency.\nAbility to efficiently utilize excel spreadsheets and other accounting software.\nBachelor’s degree in related field.\nCPA preferred, not required.\nIt is expected that the base annual salary range for this Chicago based position will be $150,000 - $175,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
