Position Summary
The Warehouse Helper/Laborer supports telecommunications construction and field operations by assisting with the organization, loading, unloading, tracking, and maintenance of materials, tools, and equipment used for aerial and underground telecommunications projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring field crews have the materials and resources needed to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving, unloading, inspecting, and stocking incoming materials and equipment.
- Load and prepare materials, tools, and supplies for daily field operations.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and security.
- Assist with inventory counts and tracking of telecommunications materials, including fiber optic, coaxial, and utility construction supplies.
- Organize and stage materials for project deployments and crew assignments.
- Support the check-in and check-out process for company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Inspect materials and equipment for damage and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Keep accurate records of inventory movements and warehouse activities.
- Assist with yard maintenance and warehouse housekeeping.
- Support vehicle, trailer, and equipment organization.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of telecommunications materials and equipment.
- Assist Operations Managers, Project Managers, Foremen, and Field Supervisors as needed.
- Deliver materials to job sites when required.
- Perform general labor tasks to support warehouse and field operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, construction, utility, or telecommunications experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment.
- Forklift experience preferred or willingness to be trained.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials and equipment.
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
