Provides support for the Network Engineering Director. Contributes to and completes projects as part of the Engineering team.\nKey Responsibilities\nEvaluate performance and prepare plans for capacity improvements procedures and provide comprehensive support for same.\nWorks with internal teams and vendors to gather requirements and pricing information for budgeting projects.\nWorks in a team environment and individually on systems-level projects assessing specifications, performance requirements, security, and network needs. Provide feedback and recommendations based on the information gathered. \nReviews and modifies existing network solutions to improve performance, correct errors, and conform with security policies and compatibility requirements of available hardware.\nCoordinates, designs, and implements new network systems to meet business needs.\nCreates documentation around new designed/implemented systems and existing systems.\nEstablishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards. \nHelps prepare and executes departmental budget.\nNegotiates contracts with outside vendors and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.\nDesigns, updates, and monitors data networking systems and equipment. \nReviews network traffic, usage, and capacity to assess future network requirements. \nMakes recommendations to management regarding new system technologies and upgrades. \nMaintains current industry knowledge of network design and engineering industry standards. \nPerforms all other related duties as assigned by management. \nUnderstanding of network engineering principles and practices. \nUnderstanding of LAN/WAN/SD-WAN/WWAN technology, administration, management, software, and hardware. \nUnderstanding of security-related hardware and software, intrusion detection, firewall implementation, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). \nUnderstanding of TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, DNS, VoIP, SMS, and digital switching technology.\nUnderstanding of how to install, configure and support Cisco, Arista, and/or Juniper networking electronics including switches, routers, and firewalls. \nAble to read and interpret technical documents and information, such as operating and maintenance instruction manuals. \nAble to evaluate, test, and repair sophisticated equipment. \nDesign and implementation of internet peering and network caching solutions\nReviews and make improvements to existing systems where applicable and keeps firmware and systems updated on a regular patch cadence.\nCoordinate with various departments and perform all capacity planning activities in support.\nPerform analysis on all development plans for production and ensure compliance to all customer demands per facility. \nDesign and schedule all weekly production and ensure effective implementation of schedule.\nManage and maintain all system parameters for production schedule and monitor for effectiveness.\nCoordinate with all various teams and perform all connectivity assessment activities.\nDesign and maintain all performance capacity reports and statistics for management.\nProvide assistance with design of systems and forecast resource capacity requirements.\nDevelop various new functions and capacity processes and modify existing ones.\nManage all key system metrics and provide support to all ad hoc reports and dashboards.\nEnsure compliance to all guidelines and ensure optimal utilization of all resources.\nAbility to make sound technical decisions using information at hand. \nAbility to effectively function as a team player. \nPerforms Capacity and performance monitoring and planning.\nCoordinates implementations, changes, and maintenance of systems. Submit change advisory board (CAB) forms and attend CAB meetings to discuss approval. \nTrains, or provides training documentation to, users on new or modified systems and networks.\n\nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\nBachelor’s degree (B.S.) and/or a minimum of eight years of related experience. \nMicrosoft software experience including Power Point, Internet, e-mail, and database software as required.\nProject Management experience a plus. \n8+ years of successful experience, preferably within telecommunications, where you have successfully managed prepare plans for capacity improvements procedures.\nAdvanced understanding of fiber and community builds.\nCustomer centric mentality with the ability to seek out solutions and execute them to completion.\nPresents very organized and structured thinking for planning and execution purposes.\nEnthusiastic approach to business, professional attitude, and highly proactive approach.\nAbility to identify and implement solutions to ambiguous problems.\nCollaborative team player with the ability to shift gears quickly and efficiently.\nExcellent time management, negotiation, goal setting, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.\nStrong and effective communication skills both orally and written.\nMust be able to read, write and speak English, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. \nAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.\nAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference;
