This is an opportunity to join an engineering team supporting a large, complex manufacturing operation undergoing significant expansion.\nThe Controls Engineer will provide hands-on support for day-to-day plant operations while also contributing to capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives. The engineering team manages more than 20 capital projects annually in addition to ongoing plant improvements, making this role an important addition to the site's long-term engineering capacity.\nThis position is approximately 40% plant-floor support and 60% office/project work. On the plant floor, you'll troubleshoot controls, hardware, and process issues while partnering directly with operations, maintenance, quality, and other plant teams. Office time is primarily dedicated to planning and executing capital projects and continuous improvement work.\nResponsibilities\nUtilize Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) knowledge to optimize plant control and quality systems.\nProvide hands-on controls and troubleshooting support for day-to-day manufacturing operations.\nAnalyze plant processes and design and implement improvements.\nTroubleshoot hardware, controls, and process-related issues.\nSupport the planning and execution of capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.\nOptimize manufacturing processes to reduce costs, improve productivity, and reduce cycle times.\nPartner with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to identify and resolve production and process issues.\nIdentify training needs and develop training materials and standard operating procedures supporting continuous improvement methodologies.\nIdentify and communicate obstacles that may prevent production requirements from being achieved.\nRecommend process improvements, training solutions, and capital expenditures where appropriate.\nSupport small project teams and collaborate with operations during design, construction, installation, and commissioning activities.\nMaintain established quality and safety standards.\nRequirements\nMust be at least 18 years of age.\n Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.\nBachelor's degree or higher OR at least four years of work experience in engineering.\nAt least one year of relevant experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or operations environment.\nFormal training in or at least one year of experience implementing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and/or Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).\nDemonstrated experience supporting industrial plant operations and troubleshooting controls, equipment, hardware, or process issues.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree or higher in Engineering. \n3+ years of experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment.\n3+ years of experience implementing PLC and/or HMI systems.\nPrevious experience working as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nExperience applying continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Transactional Lean. \nBenefits\nTotal Compensation Package: Medical, Dental & Vision, 401k with 6% match, PENSION PLAN, API Bonus, Continuing Education, Relocation Assistance, and more!\nCareer Trajectory: Controls 1 Engineers will be able to advance to Controls 2 and Controls 3 positions within a few years.
