The Data Management Specialist will be responsible for performing tasks that ensure strategic and coordinated data systems management, accuracy and integrity of data, and effective reporting of data to internal and external stakeholders.\nResponsibilities:\nEnsure the timely, accurate, and consistent preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required.\nEstablish, maintain, and update databases and records supporting recurring internal reports and program requirements.\nMonitor data quality, completeness, consistency, and integrity across applicable data systems and reporting processes.\nRecommend and implement new operating methods to improve data flow, collection, editing, processing, validation, and distribution.\nPerform data management activities that support accurate and reliable reporting to internal and external stakeholders.\nConduct high-level data analysis and validation to identify discrepancies, trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improved data quality.\nDevelop and maintain data documentation, data dictionaries, reporting procedures, and other relevant data management materials.\nCoordinate with business, technical, and program stakeholders to clarify data requirements and resolve data quality or reporting issues.\nSupport the development, enhancement, and maintenance of databases, data sets, dashboards, and recurring reporting products.\nEnsure data management practices align with applicable federal requirements, organizational policies, and established data governance standards.\nDocument data processes, identify opportunities for process improvement, and support implementation of standardized data management practices.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or a related field.\nFour (4) years of relevant professional experience in data management, data analysis, reporting, database administration, or a related discipline.\nDemonstrated experience managing and validating data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.\nExperience developing, maintaining, and updating databases, data sets, or recurring reporting systems.\nExperience analyzing data and producing accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders.\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, validation, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting functions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting data management, analytics, reporting, or transformation initiatives within a healthcare or federal environment.\nExperience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal healthcare organizations.\nFamiliarity with healthcare data, clinical or administrative data sets, and healthcare reporting requirements.\nExperience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.\nExperience with SQL and relational database concepts, including querying, data validation, and data extraction.\nFamiliarity with data governance, data quality management, metadata management, and data stewardship practices.\nExperience working with large, complex, or multi-source data sets.\nKnowledge of federal data management, privacy, security, and compliance requirements.\nExperience identifying opportunities to automate or streamline recurring reporting and data management processes.\nRelevant certifications in data management, analytics, business intelligence, or related disciplines are a plus.\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role. \nCompensation:\nSalary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.
