We value diversity, encourage our team members to maintain a healthy work-life balance and provide opportunities for career growth.\nOVERVIEW:\nWe're looking for a creative and innovative Visual Communication Designer in our Information Technology (IT) division to help bring technology and data to life through visual storytelling, multimedia, and emerging communication tools.\nIn this role, you'll transform complex IT initiatives, strategies, roadmaps and technologies into compelling stories and experiences that employees and leaders across Alberta Blue Cross can easily understand and engage with. Using a combination of visual design, video, animation, dashboards, AI-powered content creation tools, and digital storytelling techniques, you'll create internal communications and experiences that drive awareness, understanding, adoption, and engagement across the organization.\nWorking closely with IT leaders, project teams, and business stakeholders, you'll help shape how technology, data and innovation are communicated at Alberta Blue Cross while exploring new ways to connect with employees through evolving communication methods and technologies.\nYou'll also play a key role in identifying, experimenting with, and adopting emerging communication technologies and AI capabilities to continuously evolve how technology stories are told and experienced.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO:\nCreate compelling visual communications, including infographics, presentations, dashboards, reports, one-pagers, digital campaigns, and interactive content.\nDevelop videos, animations, motion graphics, visual explainers and other multimedia assets for a variety of audiences and channels.\nTranslate complex technical concepts into engaging stories and visual experiences that improve understanding and engagement.\nSupport IT leadership communications, technology launches, strategic initiatives, change management efforts, and employee engagement campaigns.\nCreate content for SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, intranet sites, town halls, and other digital channels.\nShowcase innovation, success stories, and the business impact of technology through a variety of formats.\nHelp leaders communicate technology, innovation, data, AI, architecture, IT strategy, roadmaps, priorities and cybersecurity initiatives.\nLeverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to create and enhance digital content, while innovating storytelling approaches and audience experiences.\nStay current on emerging communication trends, digital media, workplace technologies and AI-enabled tools.\nBuild prototypes, proof of concepts, and innovative communications that support experimentation and continuous improvement.\nApply technical expertise in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, PDF forms, document templates, and file/version management to produce accurate, user-friendly deliverables.\nPartner with technology leaders, architects, engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to understand and communicate complex technical concepts and initiatives.\nCollaborate with Marketing, Brand, and Corporate Communications teams to ensure technology communications align with enterprise standards, support organizational priorities and deliver a consistent employee experience.\nKey success measures:\nIncreased engagement with IT communications, digital content, and multimedia experiences.\nSuccessful adoption of innovative AI-powered approaches to storytelling and content creation.\nCreation of high-quality videos, animations, visual experiences, and AI-enabled content that make technology easier to understand.\nImproved effectiveness of communications supporting technology and organizational change initiatives.\nCreation of a compelling portfolio of stories, videos, animations, presentations, one-pagers, and digital content that showcases the impact of technology across the organization.\nStrengthening collaboration and partnership between IT and enterprise communications, marketing, and other corporate teams to deliver consistent, high-impact messaging across the organization.\nIncreased awareness and understanding of how IT initiatives, investments and strategic priorities support the organization’s operational plan and business objectives.\nWHAT YOU WILL HAVE:\nDegree or diploma in Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Interactive Media, Marketing, Technical Communications or a related field.\n3-5 years of experience creating visual communications, multimedia content, information design, digital storytelling, or digital communications solutions.\nExperience creating visually engaging content across multiple channels and formats.\nDemonstrated expertise in visual storytelling and digital content creation.\nStrong presentation design, graphic design, and content development skills.\nExperience creating video content, motion graphics, animation, or other multimedia assets.\nKnowledge of modern workplace technologies, AI-enabled tools, digital collaboration platforms, and emerging trends shaping the future of work.\nStrong understanding of information technology concepts, services, practices and trends, with the ability to quickly learn new technical domains and translate technical topics into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.\nExceptional creativity, curiosity, and storytelling ability.\nAbility to simplify complex information and create content that resonates with diverse audiences.\nA portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling, multimedia production, presentation design, video, animation, or digital content creation.\nTechnical Skills and Experience:\nExperience with some combination of:\nGraphic design and visual communications\nAdobe Creative Suite and other digital design platforms\nPresentation design (PowerPoint)\nAcrobat Pro\nMotion graphics, video production, animation and multimedia creation tools\nSharePoint, Microsoft 365, Teams and other digital workplace platforms\nContent management, web publishing, information architecture and content organization\nUser experience (UX), accessibility and inclusive design principles\nChange communications, technology adoption and employee engagement strategies\nData visualization, dashboard design and visual storytelling\nAI-powered content creation tools, including Microsoft Copilot, prompt engineering and generative AI technologies for content, video, image and design creation.\nStoryboarding, script writing and multimedia storytelling techniques\nBrand standards and enterprise communication practices\nDigital analytics and content performance measurement\nUnderstanding of IT services, technology strategy, digital transformation, AI, cybersecurity, data and analytics and enterprise technology concepts, with the ability to communicate them effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.\nThis position will remain open until a suitable
