Build what matters.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for an Assistant Controller to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions! This is your opportunity to support the financial health of our business while helping lead an accounting team committed to accuracy, accountability, and excellent service.\nIn this role, you will manage daily accounting operations and support the Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and improving accounting processes. You will take a hands-on role in the monthly close, oversee key accounting activities, and partner with teams across Blueprint to resolve issues and support business needs.\nWhat You'll Do\nManage daily accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll accounting, and general ledger activities.\nCoordinate the monthly close process, prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, and ensure assigned activities are completed accurately and on schedule.\nPrepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules applying U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).\nReview financial results, investigate discrepancies, and prepare explanations of significant account balances and budget-to-actual variances.\nOversee timely and accurate client billing, collections, vendor payments, and payroll processing in coordination with the appropriate teams.\nSupport revenue recognition and project accounting by reviewing contract terms, billing schedules, accrued revenue, deferred revenue, and project-related costs.\nMaintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring transactions are classified consistently and supported by appropriate documentation.\nApply established internal controls, review transactions and reconciliations, and escalate accounting issues or control gaps to the Controller.\nMaintain documented accounting procedures and recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.\nDevelop, maintain and support monthly and annual budgeting, forecasting, cash reporting, and cash flow planning by preparing schedules and financial analysis.\nPrepare audit schedules, tax preparation, and applicable reporting obligations.\nPartner with Delivery, Client Development, HR, and other departments to resolve accounting questions and improve information flow.\nSupport accounting system enhancements, reporting improvements, and automation initiatives.\nPerform other duties consistent with the role as assigned.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.\nAt least five years of progressive accounting experience, including experience coordinating accounting operations, leading close activities, or reviewing the work of others.\nStrong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal controls.\nExperience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and payroll accounting.\nAbility to investigate discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and recognize matters requiring escalation.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft 365 applications.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and recurring deadlines.\nA hands-on, collaborative approach and willingness to support both routine accounting activities and process improvements.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting information to nonfinancial stakeholders.\nSound judgment, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAccounting experience in technology consulting, professional services, or another project-based business.\nExperience with service-based revenue recognition, project accounting, and profitability reporting.\nPublic accounting or financial statement audit experience.\nExperience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.\nExperience supporting multi-state payroll, accounting system improvements, or process automation.\nCompensation\nAt Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated compensation range is $114,000 to $152,000 USD annually, with a midpoint of $133,000. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final compensation and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.\nLocation and Work Arrangement\nThis is a hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington. You'll be expected in the office at least two days per week, currently Tuesdays and Thursdays.
