Innovation is who we are.\nPosition:\nWe are currently seeking an onsite Mechanical Engineer at our Longmont, CO location.\nThe Mechanical Engineer will lead the mechanical design of system components for both standard and custom machinery. This includes full ownership of the master layout and all mechanical design activities. This role must coordinating closely with other mechanical engineers, as well as controls and software teams, to ensure the final solution meets all performance, budget, and schedule expectations.\nThe ideal candidate is not only passionate about designing machines, but also eager to stay engaged through the build and implementation phases, supporting the team, solving problems, and helping bring the design to life.\nDuties include but are not limited to:\nResponsible for the mechanical design of systems from concept through acceptance testing.\nResponsible for master layout and all aspects of the mechanical design, working with and coordinating other mechanical engineers on the project, controls, and software engineers to make sure the design meets performance, budget, and timeline requirements.\nWorks closely with the entire Mechanical Engineering department.\nCooperate closely with all other departments (Controls, Software, Purchasing, Fabrication, Applications, and Service).\nHelp generate technical concepts, layouts, technical calculations, and cost calculations.\nMakes customer site visits as necessary to help solve field issues.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nOccasional travel may be required.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEducation/ Experience & Qualifications:\nMinimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or a related program and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment that involves robotic experience preferably in the packaging automation industry.\nHowever, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.\nDemonstrated ability in machine design, preferred experience in the field of packaging/robotic machines required.\nExperience with pneumatics, and motor sizing.\nApplicants must possess excellent problem-solving skills.\nAbility to interact and work as a team with other mechanical engineers required.\nKnowledge of mechanical engineering development process utilizing SolidWorks, ACAD, FEA, and related engineering software techniques required.\nHigh awareness of client satisfaction level and client needs is a must.\nThe successful candidate will be a strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.\nAt this time, BPA will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.\nBPA prides itself on the quality of its employees and as such, candidates who receive an employment offer will be required to pass a drug screen and background check successfully.\nBPA offers an opportunity to grow and develop your career in an environment that provides a fulfilling workplace for employees, creates an environment for continuous learning, and embraces the ideas and diversity of others.
