Build what matters.\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking an early-careerLab & Test Engineer to support engineering and software testing across multiple platforms and operating systems. This role offers hands-on experience maintaining lab environments, managing devices, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting test automation.\nYou will help maintain and configure specialized lab equipment, support testing initiatives across Windows, macOS, and other operating systems, and contribute to automation and scripting efforts that improve testing efficiency and reliability.\nWhat You’ll Do\nMaintain, configure, and manage lab devices and testing environments across multiple operating systems.\nPerform repeatable software and hardware testing procedures to validate functionality and system behavior.\nTroubleshoot device, software, hardware, and network-related issues, escalating problems as needed.\nUpdate software, configurations, and codebases to support ongoing testing activities.\nWrite, modify, and execute automation scripts to simulate user interactions and support automated testing.\nSupport testing initiatives across Windows, macOS, and other platforms.\nAssist with lab network management and basic networking configurations.\nExecute build verification tests (BVTs), document results, and communicate issues to engineering teams.\nCollaborate with engineers and team members to maintain reliable testing environments and meet project deadlines.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.\n1-2 years of programming experience, preferably using Python or TypeScript.\n1-2 years of experience or demonstrated knowledge of basic networking concepts.\n1-2 years of experience with device management and configuration.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft operating systems and Windows environments.\nAbility to read, write, and troubleshoot code in at least one programming language.\nUnderstanding of software testing principles and quality assurance practices.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with macOS and multiple operating systems.\nFamiliarity with Group Policy Management.\nExperience with Docker or containerized environments.\nProgressChef experience.\nPersonal lab or homelab experience.\nExperience with scripting or automation using Ruby, TypeScript, Python, or C#.\nFamiliarity with Windows command-line utilities, batch files, and system configuration.\nExposure to software testing in Windows client/server or web-based environments.\nKnowledge of computer hardware and device troubleshooting.\nCompensation\nAt Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market.\nThe anticipated compensation range is $21.63 to $24.04 USD hourly, with a midpoint of $22.84. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final compensation and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications.\nLocation and Work Arrangement\nThis position is based in Redmond, Washington. Candidates must be local to the Redmond area and available to work onsite approximately one week per month, based on the team's schedule.\nOnsite attendance is required to access specialized lab equipment, prototypes, and testing facilities.
