As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.\nThe painting and finishing department at Springhill is the final process in the manufacture of COLORBOND®, where coils of steel are painted with our world leading Colorbond coating process and then packaged and despatched to our Australian & International customers.\nA key focus of this role will be fault-finding, maintaining and repairing the Paint and Finishing department’s overhead cranes. Ranging from 5 to 80 tonnes, the fleet includes manually operated AC and DC cranes, cab-driven cranes and automated cranes, providing the opportunity to work across a diverse range of crane electrical systems and support their safe, reliable operation.\nThis opportunity is open to both experienced Electricians, and 4th year completing apprentices who have experience within a continuous manufacturing environment.\nWhat will you do?\nWith your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, in this role you will:\nperform routine inspections via EWP to determine equipment condition\nisolate equipment and lead preventative and corrective maintenance tasks\nconduct fault-finding and defect elimination activities to resolve issues and support reliable equipment operation in our continuous manufacturing environment\nassist with procurement of consumables, tools, and stocked spares for routine and shutdown maintenance tasks, using the computerised maintenance management system (SAP)\nseek ways to continuously improve our maintenance practices and strategies\nperform equipment inspections, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings\nMore about you\nYou are driven by self-development, committed to our success, and have technical experience within an industrial, manufacturing environment.\nYou will have:\nelectrical trade qualifications (ideally working towards the completion of a Diploma or willing to complete)\ncurrent NSW Electrical License\nexperience working with overhead cranes, AC and DC drives and control systems, and live rail power distribution infrastructure (desired)\nhave a strong commitment to safety\nexperience with AC/DC motors\nexperience in fault finding and problem solving\ninitiative in carrying out equipment repairs\nWhy BlueScope\nAs we’re creating strength for the future through our people, products and solutions, BlueScope supports you to build your expertise within a safe and positive team environment.
