Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures steel building products used across Australian homes and major commercial and industrial projects.\nThis is a hands-on role that combines preventative maintenance, breakdown response, equipment upgrades and capital project work across a diverse range of manufacturing equipment. Working alongside fitters, electricians and operations personnel, you'll help maintain the safety, reliability and performance of our site while contributing to ongoing improvements and new equipment installations.\nThe roster for this role will be discussed during the recruitment process and may include either day shift (6:30am-2:30pm) or afternoon shift (2:30pm-10:30pm) arrangements depending on operational requirements. Afternoon shift arrangements attract applicable shift allowances. There are regular opportunities to increase your earnings through planned overtime, including weekday maintenance activities and occasional Saturday work. Importantly, there is no formal on-call roster associated with this position.\nWhat Will You Do?\nWorking across planned maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement activities, you will:\ninteract with maintenance management systems and record completed work\nassess job risks and implement appropriate control measures through JSEAs and permit systems\nisolate equipment and carry out corrective maintenance activities\ninspect equipment, identify faults and complete repairs\nrespond to machinery breakdowns and troubleshoot equipment issues\ncontribute to shutdown planning and maintenance activities\nsupport machinery upgrades, equipment improvements and capital projects\nidentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance performance\nMore About You\nYou are a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner who enjoys a varied role and can work both independently and as part of a team. You’ll bring:\nexperience maintaining manufacturing, processing or production equipment\nstrong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting capability with a proactive approach to problem solving\nexperience carrying out both preventative and breakdown maintenance\nan understanding of safe work practices, permits and maintenance compliance requirements\nexperience using maintenance management systems and basic computer applications\nstrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across maintenance and operations teams\na commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and the safety of those around you\nExperience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machining or trade-related licences such as a forklift or EWP licence would be advantageous. More importantly, you're a capable maintenance fitter with strong fault-finding skills, a safe approach to work and a willingness to learn.
