As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.\nAt our Port Kembla Slabmaking department, we transform molten iron into steel slabs for domestic and international markets. The Slabmaking area includes the Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) Plant, Steel Treatment, Slab Caster, Slab Handling, Refractories and Slab yard, with this role forming part of a cross-functional maintenance team you will be responsible for ensuring these critical assets are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability. In this hands-on role, you'll use your technical expertise to deliver key outcomes while making the safety of yourself and your colleagues a top priority.\nThis is a shift-based position working a 4-on, 4-off rotating roster of 12-hour day and night shifts, operating Monday through Sunday.\nWhat Will You Do?\nYou will apply your technical expertise to ensure that all mechanical equipment is maintained, as well as assisting with the surrounding Slabmaking department requirements for maintained mechanical equipment. You will:\nisolate equipment and perform maintenance and repairs \ninspect quality critical equipment and fault find\nresolve issues and fix any non-conformances \nseek ways to continuously improve our maintenance strategies \nprovide feedback on equipment performance\nattend to mechanical issues as first point of call\nMore About You\nYou will have a strong technical background with the ability to work effectively and flexibly in a team environment.
