This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll own architecture, engineering, security, infrastructure, technical strategy, and team building. You'll work closely with the Founder, Product, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to build a secure, scalable, production-ready financial platform.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn the technology strategy, architecture, and engineering roadmap.\nDesign and scale wallet, payments, ledger, transaction, and financial infrastructure.\nBuild secure and reliable fiat + crypto systems.\nLead engineering hiring, team structure, mentoring, and technical standards.\nStay hands-on with architecture, coding, code reviews, debugging, and system design.\nOwn cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, and observability.\nDrive security across authentication, authorisation, encryption, key management, fraud controls, and auditability.\nWork with banks, payment providers, KYC/KYB, AML, custody, blockchain, and other third-party providers.\nPartner with Product and Founder on what to build and how to scale it.\nMake build-vs-buy decisions for critical technology components.\nEstablish engineering processes without unnecessary bureaucracy.\nOwn technology costs, technical risks, and production readiness.\nRequirements:\n7+ years of software engineering experience.\nExperience as a Principal/Staff Engineer, Engineering Director, VP Engineering, CTO, or equivalent.\nExperience building fintech, payments, banking, wallets, or financial infrastructure.\nStrong backend and distributed systems experience.\nExperience with financial transaction/ledger systems.\nExperience leading engineering teams.\nStrong cloud architecture and security experience.\nGood to have:\nDigital wallets and payment gateways.\nPayment orchestration / Card issuing / CaaS.\nCrypto wallets, blockchain, stablecoins, custody.\nMPC/HSM.\nBanking-as-a-Service.\nCross-border and multi-currency payments.\nLedger architecture.\nTechnology:\nExperience with several of:\nBackend: Java, Node.js .\nDatabases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB.\nCloud and Infrastructure: AWS.\nMessaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS.\nSecurity: OAuth, OIDC, JWT, KMS, HSM, Secrets Management.\nBlockchain: Ethereum/EVM, Bitcoin, Solana or other major chains.\nGood to Have:\nHands-on and technically strong.\nEntrepreneurial and comfortable with ambiguity.\nProduct-minded and pragmatic.\nSecurity-conscious and data-driven.\nFast-moving and outcome-focused.\nStrong at hiring and
