Partner closely with Human Resources, the DE&I team, senior leadership, and other internal teams to deliver dynamic written and visual content for a variety of internal audiences and channels that support BMI's mission, strategy, and culture. This role will also write, edit, and produce compelling external-facing content for BMI.com, curate and manage a quarterly newsletter, and contribute to high-level communications projects as needed.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPartner with Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and other departments to develop and execute a comprehensive, engaging internal communications program.\nOwn BMI's intranet — planning, writing, producing, and posting content daily/weekly, and serving as a key contributor to its editorial direction and success.\nCreate high-quality, compelling content across platforms (web, email, video, social media, presentations, live events, etc.), fostering open communication and reinforcing BMI's culture, vision, and values while maintaining consistency across channels.\nSupport the AVP, Content on the company's Annual Report through research, writing, and proofreading.\nWrite a range of content for BMI.com to promote BMI-affiliated songwriters and composers and support company initiatives.\nCurate and manage a quarterly newsletter featuring BMI.com articles.\nManage freelance writers and assign articles.\nBuild strong relationships with internal clients and colleagues at all levels to strengthen and execute integrated communications plans.\nTrack the effectiveness of communications programs and recommend improvements.\nResearch and report on industry best practices.\nSupport crisis communications as needed.\nEnsure adherence to brand standards and internal policies.\nChampion BMI's Core Values and help cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or a related field required.\nExperience: Minimum of 5 years of internal and/or external communications experience required.\nSkills and Abilities:\nExceptional writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice across audiences.\nStrong editing and proofing skills; proficiency with AP Style.\nEffective, organized project management skills.\nExperience with metrics tracking and basic analytics reporting.\nFamiliarity with SharePoint or other CMS platforms; general HTML skills a plus.\nStrong social media skills and experience with video storytelling.\nFamiliarity with graphic and web design tools.\nCreative, resourceful problem-solver able to independently plan and execute multiple projects.\nSelf-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is willing to support work beyond core responsibilities to help the team succeed.\nOpen to feedback, with the ability to incorporate it quickly and effectively.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).\nCompensation$90,000-$105,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
