The role will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-efficient backend solutions while providing technical guidance to engineering teams.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign end-to-end backend and cloud solution architectures for the CDH platform. \nDevelop and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Python and AWS. \nDefine architecture patterns, technical standards, service interfaces, and non-functional requirements. \nDesign serverless, microservices, and event-driven solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and Step Functions. \nDesign and manage Kafka-based streaming solutions for real-time data processing and metadata orchestration. \nDevelop and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles. \nDesign solutions for scalability, availability, resiliency, security, observability, and performance. \nEvaluate architecture and technology options considering technical feasibility, maintainability, security, and AWS cost optimization. \nEstablish best practices for Python development, API design, testing, logging, error handling, and code quality. \nSupport CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and deployment practices. \nEnsure solutions comply with BMW security, architecture, and cloud governance standards. \nConduct architecture/design reviews, code reviews, technical POCs, and root-cause analysis for complex issues. \nIdentify and manage technical risks, dependencies, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt. \nCreate architecture and technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing. \nProvide technical leadership and mentoring to developers and collaborate with product, architecture, security, platform, and engineering teams across locations. \nWhat should you bring along\nExpert-level backend development experience using Python.\nStrong hands-on experience designing solutions on AWS.\nExperience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and related cloud services.\nStrong knowledge of solution architecture, system design, microservices, serverless, APIs, and event-driven architectures.\nHands-on experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming.\nAdvanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code.\nExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and TDD practices.\nStrong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.\nExperience designing distributed and large-scale systems.\nStrong knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, and secure API design.\nGood understanding of performance, scalability, resiliency, monitoring, and observability.\nAbility to evaluate architecture trade-offs and communicate technical decisions effectively.\nStrong problem-solving, debugging, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.\nAbility to provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineering teams.\nMust have technical skills\nPython, ideally in a cloud-native, serverless context\nExperience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django. \nKnowledge of CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing. \nExperience with enterprise data platforms, data lakes, or cloud modernization initiatives. \nGitHub\nUnderstanding of AWS Well-Architected and cloud cost-optimization principles. \nFamiliarity?with?agile?frameworks?and?participation?in?Scrum?ceremonies.\nExperience working with globally distributed engineering teams. \nAWS Certified Solutions Architect -
