BMWC is an industrial construction company seeking an experienced Virtual Design & Construction Project Manager to support our Virtual Design Group.\nThis role supports BMWC’s overall vision for Virtual Design & Construction by leading project coordination, managing digital models, supporting design teams, and advancing VDC technology and standards. The VDC Project Manager works closely with engineers, designers, architects, project managers, superintendents, owners, and trade partners to deliver accurate and coordinated construction documents and models.\nThis office role is performed alongside project team supervision and support responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and proactive problem-solver who is comfortable leading teams, managing complex workflows, and continuously improving VDC processes.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nAs a Virtual Design & Construction Project Manager, you will:\nDevelop, coordinate, and manage digital models for design, construction, estimating, field layout, safety planning, and project execution. \nOversee the production and maintenance of 3D models throughout the project lifecycle and ensure models meet design and construction requirements. \nLead coordination meetings and collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, project teams, and trade partners to resolve design and constructability issues. \nManage design detailers and drafters, including work assignments, schedules, performance, and compliance with safety, quality, budget, and project requirements. \nCoordinate models and drawings for shop drawing production, quantity extraction, model-based cost planning, project scheduling, and field survey equipment. \nReview design documents, models, piping layouts, and construction documents for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications. \nDevelop and track coordination issues, drawing logs, project impacts, change costs, and design changes throughout the project. \nProvide technical leadership, software support, and troubleshooting for design teams using BMWC’s primary VDC platforms. \nDevelop, maintain, and improve BIM execution plans, standardized workflows, templates, design guides, and departmental best practices. \nTrain and onboard employees on VDC processes, software platforms, and BIM workflows. \nPrepare design estimates for manpower, hours, bids, and change orders and provide project progress reports as requested. \nBuild strong working relationships with clients, design partners, industry organizations, and internal project teams. \nResearch emerging technology and software and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, coordination, and project delivery. \nRepresent BMWC at conferences, peer group meetings, and other industry events. \nREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS\nAssociate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. \n3+ years of design experience with a related degree, or 5 to 10 years of relevant experience without a degree. \nAdvanced experience with Autodesk 2D and 3D software, including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms. \nStrong knowledge of piping design, including equipment, instrumentation, structures, pipe supports, nozzles, and platform orientations. \nUnderstanding of multidisciplinary design workflows and how engineering, design, construction, and field teams work together throughout a project. \nStrong Microsoft Office skills. \nExperience leading design teams, managing workloads, and supporting employee onboarding and development. \nAbility to communicate technical and complex information clearly to clients, project teams, and company leadership. \nStrong leadership, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to build professional relationships and resolve conflicts or project issues effectively. \nCommitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and collaborative project delivery. \nExperience with scripting, batch processing, or workflow automation is a plus. \nBENEFITS\nCompetitive Pay with Bonus \nPTO and Paid Holidays \nPaid Volunteer Time Off \n401K/Profit Sharing with company match \nMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance \nLife, AD&D and Disability benefits \nPet Insurance \nTuition Assistance \nABOUT US\nBMWC tackles the world’s toughest and most daunting industrial construction challenges.
