This engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for maintaining and sustaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.\nOpen to internal and external candidates\nJob Summary\nThe Foreign Technology Group is seeking a highly qualified aerospace or mechanical engineer in the field of aerospace ground test technology. You will work independently to analyze and assess ground test facilities, systems, and subsystems of varying design. Additional responsibilities will include report writing, preparing and briefing presentations to senior leadership, and possible travel to meet with customers.\nJob Duties:\nAnalyze and assess aerospace ground test techniques and technologies by developing engineering calculations, diagrams, and technical reports.\nApply working knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, etc. to solve engineering problems.\nPursue identified test facility enhancements and technologies that extend facility capability, reliability, and availability.\nSynthesize information across multiple intelligence disciplines (GEOINT, SIGINT, MASINT, OSINT) to produce baseline capabilities and predictive threat assessments.\nProduce intelligence products, such as reports and briefings, to deliver to customers, leadership, and policymakers.\nEnsure projects are completed on time and within the specified budget.\nPotentially travel to meet with customers.\nIt is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.\nPerform other related duties as required.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited engineering school with 5 years of experience, to include at least 1 year of experience programming in at least one of the following languages: Python, Labview, Matlab/Simulink, or VBA.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.\nU.S. Citizenship is required due to Air Force security requirements at AEDC.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience and familiarity with analysis techniques related to aircraft, air-breathing engines, thermal protection systems, and rockets.\nFamiliarity with design and analysis of ground test infrastructure such as trans-, super-, and hypersonic wind tunnels, high altitude turbine engine test cells, hypersonic propulsion test cells, arc heated facilities, rocket test cells, and ballistic ranges.\nExperience and familiarity with aerospace ground test technology including nozzles, diffusers, air ejectors, vacuum systems, industrial combustion processes, heating and cooling systems, arc heaters, cryogenic systems, instrumentation data and control systems.\nFamiliarity with Intelligence Community analytical standards, structured analytic techniques, and target systems analysis.\nExceptional written and oral communication skills, with a proven track record of writing strategic intelligence assessments.\nFamiliarity with standard analytical tools, GEOINT exploitation software, or data-mining applications\nDemonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating and delivering presentations.\nActive Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salaries\nContinuing education assistance\nMultiple healthcare benefits packages\n401K with employer matching\nPaid time off (PTO) along with a federally recognized holiday schedule\nWho We Are\nBeyond New Horizons (BNH) is a fully populated joint venture of Astrion and Fluor Federal Services, Inc. formed to provide unmatched Test Operations and Sustainment services for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex.\nWe chose our name to serve as an enduring reminder of our commitment to AEDC’s rich aerospace research and development legacy anchored in AEDC’s Toward New Horizons founding study and the unprecedented opportunities to greatly expand AEDC’s capabilities and capacity Beyond those existing today.
