Job board applications are not always compatible with company applicant tracking systems. **\nJob Summary\nBeyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization, and an important national resource.\nAEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, and ground and flight tests. Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.\nBNH currently has an exciting career opportunity available for Sr. Linux System Administrator to join our team at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.\nJob Duties:\nServe as primary System Administrator for Linux based servers, workstations, and services with direct responsibility for:\nProfessionally handling direct user interaction for the resolution of potentially complex issues with system and/or network functionality, compatibility, and performance.\nEvaluating hardware and software solutions, summarizing findings and recommendations to leadership.\nBuild, deploy and administrate Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) workstation and server infrastructure, ensuring functionality meets AEDC mission needs.\nConfiguration, deployment, and management of virtualization technology frameworks such as VMware and OpenShift.\nBuilding and maintaining approved secure baselines for server and client operating system images.\nSystem security configuration, hardening, patching, and monitoring, including implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other DoD security policies.\nProvide secondary administration support for Linux based systems and other peripheral IT equipment as assigned to include:\nServer, workstation and storage system operations, upgrades and enhancements to meet current and future end-user and facility requirements.\nCommercial and government owned software installation, patching, and troubleshooting.\nSystem backup hardware, applications and processes.\nSupport, maintenance, repair, and installation of workstations and servers, peripheral equipment, and software applications.\nImplement and manage vulnerability patches to ensure system security.\nWork with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure compliance with Cybersecurity regulations and best practices.\nEnsure Cybersecurity requirements are consistently documented, maintained, evaluated and compliant for Government IT system networks including components of systems.\nProvide end user troubleshooting support for Government IT system networks through the ticket support system.\nSupport the use of common work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract.\nTake an active role in research of new Information Systems technologies and capabilities.\nPeriodically evaluate process and program effectiveness and take action to maintain continuous improvement.\nMust currently possess or commit to obtaining any requisite certifications required for assuming administrative role in accordance with DoD 8140 within 6 months of hiring date.\nProvide support to AEDC Customer and other contractors.\nAvailability outside of working hours to remediate critical issues with IT Infrastructure as required.\nIt is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. \nPerform other duties as required.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in IT-related field with 8 years of experience;
