This position offers an opportunity to contribute to our growth and innovation and work with some of the leading professionals in the field.\nJob Description\nThe Senior Project Manager is the primary liaison between clients, contractors, and BNP. The Senior Project Manager is a Subject Matter Expert (SME), with strong technical competency that participates in regularly scheduled meetings with clients and contractors to ensure projects progress on schedule, on budget, and according to the agreed upon Architectural and Engineering design plans. Designers, Project Engineers, Directors, and Executives coordinate with the Senior Project Manager to manage projects by assigning the BNP staff needed to develop all reports, specifications, drawing packages, and any other materials or submittals required by clients across the lifespan of a project. The Senior Project Manager also mentors less-experienced Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Designers to cultivate cohesive development strategies and enable team members to advance their careers.\nJob Responsibilities\nAs a Senior Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring successful execution and client satisfaction. The candidate’s key responsibilities will include:\nPrimary liaison and SME for clients and contractors \nCoordinates with Designers, Project Engineers, Directors, and Executives to manage projects by assigning staff needed to develop all reports and documentation required by clients \nAuthors reports and specifications \nProvides technical explanation of the specifications \nConsults with team members and other Project Managers with specific areas of expertise to achieve best possible solutions for clients \nManages baggage handling requirements, analytics, and design development \nManages on-site surveys, inspections, installations, and equipment tests \nManages punch list resolution and start-up assistance \nManages project budgets and schedules \nFields RFI requests \nReviews specification and results of system simulations \nProvides feedback to Designers and Project Engineers to ensure quality of reports, specifications, drawing packages, and any other documentation submitted to clients \nMentors Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Designers \nBNP is here to support you in these responsibilities. We will provide you with state-of-the-art technology, including new computer hardware, and an up-to-date software package combined with in-house software developed to support our niche industry.\nQualifications\nBelow is an outline of the qualifications for this position. We have many Project Managers who fall outside of this standard, so please do not be dissuaded from applying if you do not meet particular criteria:\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in New Zealand. Verification of employment eligibility will be required as part of the hiring process.\nApplicants must pass criminal background checks and security screening to obtain airport security badges.\nIdeally more than five (5) years’ experience with Baggage Handling Systems or Warehousing\nMinimum five (5) years’ experience in project management (preferably in BHS)\nIdeally, management and team-building experience with large design and development groups\nExceptional client rapport and communication skills\nSkilled in handling multiple responsibilities with efficiency and focus\nExperience with project logistics, timelines, and budgets\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to read, interpret, and develop efficient logistics designs and concepts\nData acquisition and compilation skills\nExperience conducting field surveys, inspections, and equipment tests\nWe utilize the latest software package technology in our design efforts, including recent releases of Revit, AutoCAD, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Sim 3D, or other related design software is beneficial, but not required for this role. \nPreferred qualifications include a background in mechanical, industrial, or controls engineering. However, civil and electrical engineers, as well as candidates with other educational backgrounds, may be considered if they possess relevant knowledge or experience. Previous experience in conceptual and spatial coordination works with large-scale hub airports is a valuable asset.\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering, aviation management, or airport planning. \nAdvanced degree or similar field experience \nPMP certification preferred but not required\nEIT or PE certification preferred but not required \nWorking Conditions\nThis is a full-time position based at our Auckland, New Zealand.
