BNY

BNY, formerly BNY Mellon, is a global financial services company headquartered in New York City, providing custody, fund administration, clearing, corporate trust, treasury and payments services, investment management through BNY Investments, and wealth management to institutions and individuals. Founded in 1784 by Alexander Hamilton, it oversees about 62.6 trillion dollars in assets under custody and administration and has large operations in Pittsburgh, Lake Mary, Manchester, London, Dublin and Pune. Hiring spans fund administration and client service, audit, data, AI and full-stack engineering, product management and analyst and summer internship programs.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead and manage a regional Financial Reporting organization, providing strategic oversight of client relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery across the jurisdiction.
  • Develop and execute business plans, contribute to functional strategy, and establish operating frameworks, priorities, and performance standards that drive organizational success.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance on complex financial statement disclosures, accounting matters, and regulatory requirements, including the interpretation and application of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex reporting, accounting, and client issues, driving timely resolution while maintaining strong risk and control discipline.
  • Oversee relationships with external auditors, clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of all financial reporting and regulatory filings.
  • Establish reporting policies, governance standards, and quality controls to support the preparation and review of high-quality financial statements and investor reporting.
  • Partner with senior client representatives and audit leadership, effectively communicating complex accounting and reporting matters while fostering trusted advisor relationships.
  • Lead client relationship management activities, ensuring service levels consistently meet or exceed expectations, proactively resolving issues, and supporting business growth initiatives including RFPs, RFIs, and client presentations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management by identifying emerging risks, strengthening internal controls, and promoting a strong compliance and governance culture.
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements, automation opportunities, and technology solutions that enhance reporting quality, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Champion innovation through the identification, development, and deployment of AI and advanced analytics use cases that improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and accelerate reporting processes.
  • Build, develop, and lead high-performing teams, with accountability for talent management, succession planning, employee engagement, and achievement of strategic and operational objectives.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large teams of financial reporting professionals, preferably within a fund administrator, asset servicing organization, asset manager, or Big Four accounting firm with investment funds experience.
  • Deep technical accounting expertise across IFRS, U.S. GAAP, Lux GAAP, and other relevant regulatory frameworks, with strong knowledge of investment fund structures, including mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, and alternative investments.
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven success serving as a strategic partner to senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders, influencing decisions and driving organizational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale transformation initiatives, balancing strategic priorities with disciplined execution and risk management.
  • Self-motivated leader with a continuous improvement mindset and a track record of driving operational excellence, innovation, and organizational change.
  • Experience leveraging digital capabilities, automation, and data-driven decision making to improve business performance.
  • Proven experience delivering Generative AI and AI-enabled solutions into production environments, with measurable business impact.
  • Strong client-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments and build credibility across all levels of an organization.
