Join us and be part of something extraordinary.\nWe’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Engineering Group Leader to join our Engineering team for Enterprise Custody Services Platform. This role is located in New York. This leader will operate at the intersection of technology, product, architecture, operations, and business strategy. They will be expected to drive platform modernization, advance engineering excellence, and identify opportunities to apply automation and AI-enabled capabilities to improve delivery speed, quality, and service outcomes. The role requires a leader who can combine deep technical and organizational judgment with strong execution discipline, talent leadership, and stakeholder influence. This is an opportunity to lead an important engineering organization within one of BNY’s most strategically significant businesses, helping shape the future of the platform while building high-performing teams and delivering measurable impact at scale.\nIn this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:\nLead a critical engineering portfolio across the Enterprise Custody Services Platform, setting direction for execution, modernization, and delivery performance\nBuild and lead global engineering teams, ensuring strong organizational design, technical capability, and alignment to platform priorities\nDrive delivery of scalable, resilient, and secure technology solutions that improve business outcomes, client experience, and operational efficiency\nPartner across Product, Architecture, Operations, Risk, and business leadership to align engineering investments with strategic priorities and client needs\nAdvance engineering excellence through modern software practices, stronger quality disciplines, and improved delivery rigor across the portfolio\nIdentify and scale opportunities to apply automation and AI-enabled capabilities to improve engineering productivity, workflow efficiency, and service outcomes\nLead risk, control, and operational oversight across the portfolio, ensuring strong governance, resilience, and execution discipline\nManage budgets, workforce planning, and investment priorities to deliver against strategic plans\nRecruit, develop, and retain strong engineering talent, while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement\nRepresent the organization in senior leadership forums, translating engineering priorities into clear business value and execution outcomes\nTo be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:\n15+ years of experience leading large-scale engineering organizations and complex technology portfolios in large, complex enterprise environments\nAdvanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.\nStrong track record of delivering modernization, platform transformation, and engineering execution at scale\nDeep technical grounding in enterprise software engineering, distributed systems, integration patterns, APIs, cloud-enabled architectures, and resilient platform design\nDemonstrated experience leading global engineering teams in complex, matrixed environments\nStrong understanding of software delivery, engineering quality, operational controls, and risk management in high-availability environments\nExperience applying automation and AI-enabled capabilities to improve engineering productivity, delivery quality, operational efficiency, or service outcomes\nStrong business and stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, product, architecture, operations, risk, and senior business partners\nTrack record of building high-performing teams and developing strong engineering leaders\nExperience in financial services, custody, securities processing, or similarly regulated environments preferredBNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
