This role is responsible for the engineering, support, stability, resiliency, and continuous improvement of a large-scale enterprise mainframe environment that supports critical business services across the firm.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for maintaining highly available production systems, driving operational excellence, supporting modernization initiatives, and ensuring the reliability of one of the industry's most critical computing platforms.\nThis position requires deep technical expertise, strong operational leadership, and the ability to work across engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, application support, and infrastructure teams.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nInfrastructure Engineering & Platform Support\nProvide senior-level support and engineering expertise for IBM Mainframe infrastructure and associated technologies.\nMaintain platform stability, availability, performance, and resiliency across production and non-production environments.\nSupport system software upgrades, maintenance activities, platform enhancements, and lifecycle management initiatives.\nPerform complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure and platform-related issues.\nLead recovery efforts during critical incidents and major outage situations.\nDevelop and maintain operational procedures, technical documentation, and support standards.\nOperational Excellence\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, automation, and risk reduction.\nSupport capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization activities.\nMonitor platform health and proactively identify operational risks.\nPartner with service management teams to improve incident, problem, and change management processes.\nEnsure operational readiness for new technologies and platform enhancements.\nTechnology Strategy & Modernization\nSupport long-term technology strategies focused on resiliency, modernization, automation, and operational efficiency.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices.\nParticipate in infrastructure transformation initiatives and platform optimization efforts.\nIdentify opportunities to improve automation, monitoring, and engineering processes.\nRisk & Control Management\nEnsure compliance with enterprise risk management standards and technology controls.\nSupport audit activities, regulatory examinations, and control reviews.\nParticipate in disaster recovery testing and resiliency exercises.\nMaintain adherence to cybersecurity and operational risk requirements.\nTechnical Leadership\nMentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.\nProvide technical leadership across cross-functional initiatives.\nPartner with senior technology leaders on strategic priorities and operational improvements.\nServe as a subject matter expert for mainframe infrastructure technologies.\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience\n12+ years of infrastructure engineering experience within large enterprise environments.\n8+ years of hands-on IBM Mainframe engineering and support experience.\nDemonstrated experience supporting mission-critical production platforms operating in a 24x7 environment.\nExperience managing complex technical incidents and operational recovery events.\nExperience working within highly regulated financial services or similarly complex industries preferred.\nTechnical Expertise\nStrong experience with several of the following:\nIBM z/OS\nIBM Mainframe Hardware\nJES2 / JES3\nSMP/E\nRACF\nJCL\nREXX\nSysplex technologies\nCapacity and performance management\nDisaster recovery and resiliency solutions\nOperational automation\nMonitoring and observability tools\nITIL-based operational processes\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe environments.\nExperience with infrastructure modernization initiatives.\nExposure to DevOps, automation, and platform engineering concepts.\nKnowledge of cybersecurity, resiliency, and operational risk frameworks.\nExperience leading enterprise-wide infrastructure projects.\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline required.\nMaster's degree preferred.\nIndustry certifications are a plus.\nLeadership Competencies\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.\nProven ability to influence across technical and
