Join us and be part of something extraordinary.\nWe’re seeking a SVP, Equities Mainframe Engineer professional to join our Equities team in Lake Mary, FL or Pittsburgh, PA.\nIn this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:\nInvolved in design, development and maintain applications incorporating both front-end and back-end technologies. \nProgramming well-designed, testable, efficient code.\nIntegrate software components into a fully functional software system. \nConsults with Product and Business groups to provide high-level application software development services.\nActively participate in code reviews.\nMentoring junior developers.\nAnalyzes the situation and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues.\nTaking a hands-on approach to understanding business drivers and the products we work with.\nDriving innovation and continuous improvements within our development and operational practices.\nHelping re-engineer, modernize our platform and drive migration to a scalable microservice, cloud based. architecture using AI and other cutting edge development tools.\nWorking cross-functionally with various stakeholders, trading systems, and running operational procedures to ensure our applications are risk managed efficiently and systematically.\nTo be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:\nBachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.\n8 to 12 years of experience in software development required - proficiency in Mainframe\nSupport and maintain the legacy Order Management System (OMS) on the mainframe platform.\nDeliver BAU enhancements, maintenance, and system updates.\nLead investigation, development, testing, and deployment of fixes for production issues and defects.\nProvide support for internal and external audits, including documentation and compliance activities.\nCollaborate with business and technology teams to ensure system stability and timely issue resolution.\nUtilize COBOL, JCL, DB2, MQ, Control-M, CICS, VSAM, and related mainframe technologies to support and enhance the application environment.\nExposure to front-end languages, libraries and frameworks (Angular, HTML/ CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript, jQuery) \nWorking knowledge in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, ORM, Spring Data libraries.\nExperience of working in Oracle or SQL Server.\nExperience & Good Understanding of Messaging frameworks like IBM MQ or Kafka.\nExperience in Caching frameworks and FIX protocol are added advantages.\nGood experience in SDLC, DevOps processes - CI/CD tools, Git, etc. \nKnowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies and ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail.\nFamiliarity with one or more AI vibe-coding and coding-assist tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, etc)\nExperience in the securities or financial services industry with focus on Equities.\nPrevious experience designing and implementing new systems and features across platforms.\nUnderstanding of trade life cycles for equities.\nBrings production support experience and can troubleshoot issues under pressure.\nPrevious experience with application profiling and debugging.\nStrong communication and organization skills.\nAt BNY, our culture speaks for itself, check out the latest BNY news at:\nBNY Newsroom\nBNY LinkedIn\nHere’s a few of our recent awards:\nAmerica’s Most Innovative Companies, Fortune, 2025 \nWorld’s Most Admired Companies, Fortune 2025 \n“Most Just Companies”, Just Capital and CNBC, 2025 \nOur Benefits and Rewards:\nBNY offers highly competitive compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs rooted in a strong culture of excellence and our pay-for-performance philosophy.
