Join us and be part of something extraordinary.\nWe’re seeking a Vice President, Mainframe Engineer professional to join our Foundational Frameworks team in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL.\nIn this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:\nDevelop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SAS, and VSAM.\nControl-m scheduling system knowledge desirable.\nOther mainframe utility understanding, including: InSync, IBM utilities, SyncSort, compares, SDSF, DumpMaster.\nExperience with mainframe file structures including: PDS/E, Sequential and GDG.\nAFP coding is desirable.\nAssembler, Rexx and CList coding/understanding is a plus.\nParticipate in mainframe DevOps initiatives (GitLab, CI/CD, automated testing).\nAdminister and maintain IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) environments across development, testing, and production.\nMonitor platform health, performance, capacity, and availability.\nPerform upgrades, patching, and configuration management.\nManage CMOD object servers, library servers, cache storage, and archival processes.\nProvide L2/L3 support for production incidents and service requests.\nParticipate in on-call support rotations.\nSupport integrations between CMOD and upstream/downstream applications.\nSupport CMOD databases (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server).\nSupport audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.\nEnsure data retention policies are properly configured and enforced.\nSupport disaster recovery testing and business continuity initiatives.\nTo be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:\nEDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field.\nEXPERIENCE - 5+ years of experience supporting mainframe applications.\nProficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and SAS.\nUnderstanding of batch processing.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills.\nFinancial services industry experience.\nFamiliarity with GitLab, CI/CD or other source control tools.\nExposure to mainframe DevOps practices.\nKnowledge of REXX, Assembler.\nIBM CMOD architecture.\nObject Server and Library Server administration.\nIndexing and document retrieval processes.\nCMOD migration and upgrade procedures.\nLinux/Unix administration.\nSQL and relational databases (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server).\nAt BNY, our culture speaks for itself, check out the latest BNY news at:\nBNY Newsroom\nBNY LinkedIn\nHere’s a few of our recent awards:\nAmerica’s Most Innovative Companies, Fortune, 2025 \nWorld’s Most Admired Companies, Fortune 2025 \n“Most Just Companies”, Just Capital and CNBC, 2025 \nOur Benefits and Rewards:\nBNY offers highly competitive compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs rooted in a strong culture of excellence and our pay-for-performance philosophy.
