Juristic is now part of Board Intelligence, and we are bringing a new product to market. The work is led by our CTO, and we are looking for an AI Engineer to build it with them from the first line of code.\nThis is a zero-to-one role in a small team of four full-stack developers, a machine learning engineer and the CTO. You will write the code, sit in front of customers, and help decide what we build next.\nMain Responsibilities\nDesign, build and ship the AI capabilities at the core of a new product, from first prototype to production \nOwn LLM-powered workflows end to end, such as document understanding, data extraction and agentic assistants \nChoose and integrate models and providers, and own the prompting, retrieval, evaluation and guardrails that make AI output reliable enough for legal and governance work \nWork directly with customers and the CTO to turn real problems into product decisions, and help own the product roadmap \nLay the engineering foundations for the new product, including architecture, testing, observability and deployment, so it can scale \nWork with the wider Juristic and Board Intelligence engineering teams, and contribute to AI tooling shared across the suite \nPerson Specification\nWe are looking for a builder: an experienced AI engineer who has been a technical founder or an early employee at a startup, and who is ready to do it again.\nRequired Skills and Experience:\nAt least four years of professional software engineering experience \nExperience as a technical founder or early employee at a startup, having built a product from the first line of code\nA track record of building and shipping AI or LLM-powered products to real users\nPractical experience with LLM APIs, prompt design, retrieval and evaluating model output in production\nStrong engineering fundamentals across backend and frontend, with the judgement to move fast without leaving a mess behind\nA strong product mindset: you have worked directly with customers and owned a product roadmap\nHungry, motivated and ready for another zero-to-one journey\nFluent written and spoken English \nNice to haves:\nExperience with our stack: TypeScript (Node.js and React) and Python\nExperience with document processing, such as PDF parsing and extraction from unstructured text\nExperience building agentic systems, tool use or MCP integrations\nExperience with search and retrieval infrastructure, such as Elasticsearch or vector databases\nA background in legal tech, governance or B2B SaaS for professional users\nWhat good looks like in this role:\nAfter three months: you know our customers, the product vision and the codebase, and you have shipped AI features that real users rely on\nAfter six months: the core AI capabilities of the new product are in production, backed by evaluations that show they are reliable, and you are acting on customer feedback\nAfter twelve months: the product is in market with paying customers, you are a trusted voice on the roadmap, and the AI foundations you built are reused across the Juristic and Board Intelligence
