This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems throughout the resort. The HVAC Technician plays a key role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and exceptional environment for our guests, members, and team members by maintaining the highest standards of facility performance and reliability.\nThe ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service in a hospitality environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nInstall, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.\nPerform preventive maintenance on chillers, boilers, cooling towers, rooftop units, air handlers, fan coil units, split systems, exhaust systems, pumps, and associated equipment.\nDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using appropriate testing equipment.\nMonitor and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS) to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.\nRespond promptly to guest room and facility maintenance requests related to HVAC systems.\nPerform routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.\nMaintain refrigeration equipment serving restaurants, kitchens, bars, and banquet operations.\nReplace motors, compressors, belts, bearings, filters, valves, thermostats, sensors, and other HVAC components as needed.\nEnsure all work complies with OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, fire/life safety standards, and applicable building codes.\nComplete work orders accurately using the resort's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).\nAssist with general building maintenance projects as assigned, including basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.\nCoordinate with outside contractors during equipment installations, inspections, and major repairs.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance situations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.\nFOUR DIAMOND SERVICE EXPECTATIONS\nAll associates exhibit a professional vocabulary that is devoid of common slang.\nGuests are graciously escorted to areas when directions are requested.\nThere is evidence that all associates are empowered by management to resolve guest issues immediately.\nAll phone calls are answered promptly within three rings.\nAll associates are appropriately attired; including a name tag.\nAll associates demonstrate appropriate behavior and hygiene.\nRequirements\nEssential:\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nTechnical or vocational training in HVAC is preferred.\nMinimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.\nEPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.\nWorking knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, electrical controls, and mechanical equipment.\nAbility to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.\nExperience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working in a hotel, resort, university, healthcare, or large commercial facility.\nKnowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS).\nExperience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and commercial refrigeration.\nHVAC Journeyman license or equivalent trade certification preferred.\nSAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES\nAll employees must learn and comply with all Resort safety rules; must use appropriate safety equipment at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features or equipment, machinery or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.\nSTANDARD SPECIFICATIONS\nRequirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities.
