No mystery ingredients. No shortcuts. Just clean, thoughtfully made formula that parents can trust.\nBut Bobbie has never been just a formula company. When the 2022 national infant formula shortage left parents across the country unable to feed their babies, we closed our storefront to new customers rather than leave a single existing family without formula. We went to Washington. We got loud. And we opened our Heath, Ohio manufacturing facility to make sure something like that could never happen again.\nThat's who we are, and that's what you'd be joining.\nBobbie for Change\nOur advocacy arm, Bobbie for Change, exists because making great formula isn't enough if the systems around parenthood are still broken. We fight for paid federal parental leave, push for legislation to prevent future formula shortages, advocate for feeding equity, and support families navigating impossible situations, including donating formula to parents impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers through the Bobbie Breasties program.\nWe're a company that genuinely believes becoming a parent makes you an activist. The people who work here feel that too.\nAbout the Role\nBobbie is a $150M+ infant nutrition company growing 50% year over year, expanding into new product categories while operating under FDA-regulated infant formula standards. The Director, Procurement & Raw Materials Strategy is a newly created role that will own strategic sourcing and supplier management for the ingredients and packaging behind that growth, reporting directly to the VP, Supply Chain.\nOne person currently handles procurement strategy, supplier negotiation, tactical buying, and cost tracking. This director will take ownership of the strategic side of that work, build the cost accounting and supplier performance infrastructure, and free the current purchasing team to focus on category execution and supplier relationships.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategic Sourcing & Supplier Management\nOwn supplier strategy across dairy and nutritional ingredients, other ingredients and premixes, and packaging: a base of roughly 25 approved suppliers today, growing as Bobbie enters new categories.\nLead negotiation of multi-year supply agreements and master supply agreements.\nQualify and onboard new suppliers as Bobbie launches into new product categories, weighing lead time, cost, and regulatory risk, including FDA and IFN clearance timing on new packaging and ingredients.\nBuild a formal supplier qualification process and scorecards where none exist today.\nCost Accounting & Systems\nStand up cost accounting and PPV reporting for raw material and packaging spend, replacing the manual spreadsheet tracking the team relies on today.\nOwn procurement's use of ERP for planning, MRP, PO issuance, and item costing, partnering with the supply chain systems function to improve it over time.\nWork with Finance to manage the PO approval thresholds tied to cash-timing, balancing raw material lead times against cash management needs.\nTeam Leadership\nManage and develop the purchasing team.\nShift the team's day-to-day from reactive tactical buying toward proactive category strategy and supplier relationship management.\nCross-Functional Partnership\nPartner with Quality, Regulatory, and Science on ingredient and packaging specifications, supplier audits, and regulatory clearance timing.\nPartner with Supply Planning and Plant Operations, including comanufacturing sites, on demand signals, lead times, and inventory positioning.\nPartner with Finance on cash-timing, PO approval workflows, and cost reporting.\nSupport new product launches end to end from a procurement standpoint: supplier selection, PO timing against regulatory clearance, and managing the tradeoffs of ordering ahead of clearance when launch timelines require it.\nRequired Qualifications\n8+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, including experience negotiating multi-year supply agreements, ideally in food, CPG, or another regulated manufacturing environment.\nExperience standing up or significantly improving cost accounting or PPV processes.\nComfort working directly in an ERP system and building reporting where none exists today.\nExperience managing suppliers through new product launches, including regulatory-driven timelines.\nPeople leadership experience, with comfort both setting strategy and staying close enough to the details to unblock the team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nDairy or nutritional ingredient sourcing experience.\nExperience in infant formula, baby food, or another FDA-regulated food category.\nExperience scaling a procurement function inside a high-growth company (50%+ year over year growth).\nYou’re inspired by our core values:\nBe Radical - We are change makers, rule breakers and stigma shakers. We are unapologetically bold and use our megaphone for good.\nNurture the Tension - Parenthood is full of healthy tension, and so is building a company. We embrace the unknowns, practice humility and are a culture of learners.\nDeliver Ounce by Ounce - Our customers have entrusted us to feed their babies. We lose sleep over the details, so they don’t have to.\nDon’t Assume - We embrace our unique perspectives, withhold judgment, and find beauty in the paths that brought us all to Bobbie. Our strength is celebrating each other and our collective voice.\nCompensation and Benefits:\nCompensation \nOur salaries are based on paying competitively for our size and industry.
