We raised a $35M Series A led by 8VC, with Primary and Pear, and we're growing fast.\nAbout the role \nYou'll be our first legal hire and the point person for everything legal at Bobyard. Today, legal work is spread across our leadership team and five outside law firms, and your job is to bring it into one place. You'll negotiate customer agreements, keep our contracts and terms current, and manage the firms we work with. Success is Sales never waiting on legal, and every matter having one owner and a clear next step.\nWhat you'll do\nBe the single point of contact for legal requests: triage, route, and track every matter to closure\n\nNegotiate and redline customer agreements (MSAs, order forms, DPAs, and NDAs) within our playbook, and escalate what needs outside counsel\n\nManage our outside counsel relationships, scope matters, and track legal spend\n\nKeep contract templates current and version-controlled as pricing and processes change\n\nWork with Product to keep our terms of service, privacy policy, and in-product terms accurate\n\nAnalyze contract terms against data-privacy, security, and commercial risk, and give leadership clear recommendations\n\nBuild the systems that make legal scale: intake, a clause playbook, and contract management\n\nWhat we're looking for\n0-3 years in legal operations, commercial contracts, or a transactional practice\n\nYou've redlined or negotiated contracts yourself, not just watched\n\nYou make a call with incomplete information, and you know when to escalate\n\nYou can say no to a salesperson or a customer's lawyer and keep the relationship strong\n\nClear, concise writing, and the follow-through to keep many matters moving at once\n\nNice to have\nJuris Doctor (JD)\n\nSaaS agreements, DPAs, or privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA). CIPP/US is a plus\n\nContract lifecycle management (CLM) tools\n\nStartup experience, or a firm serving startups\n\nWhat we offer\nCash for stability. Bonus for performance. Equity for ownership.
