As the AI Development Manager, you will join a diverse, international team and -- with your leadership -- you will help deliver a generation of AI-enabled and intelligent solutions to global aviation.\nThis role leads a platform capability development team of data scientists, AI engineers and other data professionals, with two core accountabilities:\ndeveloping and deploying agentic AI capabilities supporting commercial offerings and \nensuring the safety, quality and security of those capabilities \nYou will lead the development of shared AI/ML capabilities powering commercial products and services. Working with product and platform teams, you will own, develop and sustain harnesses and agents meeting business throughout the AI lifecycle and enable teams to deliver reliable AI-powered products. You will translate relevant enterprise requirements into practical implementation within Digital Services and represent the portfolio’s needs and experience in cross-Boeing collaboration.\nPosition Responsibilities: \nDevelop Shared AI/ML Capabilities: Lead delivery of high-priority, reusable AI/ML services, components and tooling for commercial products and services. These will be platform-level harnesses, agents and tools, supporting multiple customer-facing offerings. \nSteer AI Safety & Quality: partnering with the AI Governance leadership, advise on and develop both guardrails and evaluation frameworks \nEnable Product Teams: Help teams adopt shared platform AI capabilities and meet established safety, quality and governance requirements through practical tooling, guidance and engineering support. \nBuild Partnerships Across Boeing: Develop and maintain relationships with other Boeing business units and functions, including engineering, IT, cybersecurity, safety, quality and governance stakeholders. Maintain effective customer and stakeholder relationships and measure adoption, quality, reliability and business value. \nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): \nCandidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.” \n5+ years of experience delivering AI/ML, data science or analytics solutions in a commercial environment, including production deployment. \n3+ years of experience in an AI/ML, data science or analytics leadership role, such as manager, technical lead or principal. \n1+ years of experience delivering agentic AI services or capabilities. \nExperience implementing AI safety, quality and governance frameworks in production environments. \nDemonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships, influence stakeholders and communicate technical decisions to technical and nontechnical audiences. \nMust consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment. \nMust be legally authorized to work in Canada. \nIndividual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods. \nMust be eligible to handle US export-controlled data. \nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): \nBachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience. \nExperience leading AI platform or enablement capabilities supporting multiple products or teams. \nExperience collaborating across business units or enterprise functions in a large organization. \nExperience with cloud computing and hosted cloud services, such as Azure, AWS or GCP, particularly Azure Databricks. \nExperience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge graphs or graph-based retrieval (GraphRAG). \nExperience in a software development management role. \nExperience in the aviation domain. \nConflict of Interest: \nSuccessful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.\nAdditional Information: \nThis requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada.
