The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Product Repair/Modification Technician (Level B) to join our International Space Station (ISS) team in Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assembles and disassembles system components to support the correction of failures or implement changes
- Performs routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
- Inspects components before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components
- Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications
- Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations)
- Works under general supervision
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
- More than 1 year of experience with retrofit, repairs, modifications & maintenance
- More than 1 year of experience reading, understanding and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications
- The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- Associates degree in electronics, science, or in a general technical field
- More than 1 year of experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, propulsion, or similar systems
- Experience in the use and operation of dimensional measurements equipment
- Experience with instrumentation calibration and use
